Expected, but good news nonetheless.

His agent says it doesn't necessarily mean he's going to come over in NA.

Yeah, not sure that'll play very well in North America.

I assume it's pronounced Neye-Gah, but still...

Bring over Magnus Nygren to North America

The guy's a stud. 51 games,13 goals,19 assists,32 points ,49 points +11. We need a right handed shot with size 6'. 2013 Borje Salming award winner for the best defender in the Swedish Elite League.

I just posted a thread on him. Yeaaah it's about time. BTW who says that stud Swedish defencemen never turn out to be top NHLers. Borje Salming, Niklas Lindstrom, Ulf Samuelsson, Mattias Ohlund, Calle Johansson, etc... We need Swedes!

How is it some prospects start with 3 year ELCs and others start with 2 year ELCs? What causes the difference?

Good. Hopefully Pribyl is next. We have so many open contract spots it'd be a shame to not take a chance on him just because of skating.

Seems to me like a Diaz clone, except 1 inch taller and was 2 years younger when he started playing well overseas.

Never seen the guy really play but his numbers this year look like Diaz' numbers from 3 years ago.

I hope he wins the Stanley Cup while a member of the Montreal Canadiens organization.

Great signing. Loved how upset he was about not being able to come over this year. Seems to really want to be an NHL'er.

Swedish League is a little better than the Swiss League.

IMO;

NHL
KHL
SEL
NLA
AHL

I thought so too, but still. Let's hope he turns out as good, hopefully better than Diaz. Guy looked shaky in his 1st PO series this year...

He was talking about his unusual nickname "Nyggah", pretty sure that won't be used when he comes to NA.

You realize he'd just come back from a concussion, right? He's also the player that got Eller seriously injured, and besides one game, he didn't look very good the rest of the way. Probably felt horrible about that.

Bourque (who I really love), was just as bad when he first came back from his concussion. He was awesome by the time playoffs rolled around, but he had a bigger head start over Diaz as well.

Hopefully he's a better skater than Diaz, IMO Diaz has a weird skating stride. I know nothing about Nygren though.

The Y in Nygren sounds like the U in the French word sur.

The E sounds like the E in passť.

Finally, let's hope for him to show what he can do to all those RDS staff who wanted Quebecois as late round picks just because it's cute. especially Gaston Therrien
