Not playoff news, but since it's an "Around the League" thread, the Stars' new GM turfed Gulutzan and an assistant (Jerrard) today.

Nill cleaning house. Dallas wasn't exactly expected to do much IMO, trading away Jagr, Roy, and Morrow at the trade deadline doesn't help.

But with a new GM comes new philosophies. Nill is doing things his way.

That could have been another job Mactavish applied/interviewed for and didnt get. Thank goodness he has the Oilers to fall back on.

Mike Brophy must have been crying last night. His last tweet is an excited chronicling of Kadri's goal.

Never really realized until I heard on specs show, but Pitt, Chi, LA, Bos the most recent cup champs all alive. Wouldn't that be something, a bit more bragging rights.

A Senators-San Jose final.

If we had a time machine, transport someone from 1993 and place them in the finals while it's in HP Pavilion.

I'm hoping that the Bruins and Kings lose. Other than that, I don't care about the results.

I have a feeling MacT may do the same. It's nice to see another franchise doing it though. (ie 1st year HC gets turfed by new GM).

I'm hoping for the Sharks to win it, but don't have alot of confidence. I think it'll be the Penguins in the East, and Blackhawks in the West.

CBC getting worse and worse.

Showing the score as 0-0 to start the second here.

Keep up the good work, production crew.

Anyone else have little interest in the Senators/Penguins series?

The "Pesky" Sens are DOA in this series.

Not really around the league but I couldn't think of an appropriate Oilers topic to put it in:

The Oilers began their home schedule giving up 6 goals in the first period. They ended their home schedule scoring 6 in the last period.

Don't get me wrong, he was a no show this series but really? He gave the Bruins momentum and arguably helped them turn around the series vs the Lightning on our Cup run. Last year for the Caps he had a huge goal when no one else could score. This series he was a complete no show along with Marchand and even Bergeron for the most part, but they came up when it mattered most. Calling him a playoff choker is obnoxious like saying Taylor Hall is injury prone.

Perfect example of the lack of respect in the game is that Torres hit on Stoll.
Guys use to be team mates, bar buddies, friends.
Torres has him in a pretty vulnerable spot and tries to take his head off.
