I think, even if he doesn't win a cup with us that he gets his number retired. He will likely pass Richter in wins next season, as well as passing Eddie in shutouts.

No one else on our current roster has touched the top 10 in team anything.

lol if you look at the playoffs thread on the kings board they are all oh great now we have to hear how lundqvist is a god but it doesnt matter he still not better than quick. and then theres no wonder why they praise lundqvist the rangers have done nothing since 94. also it helps that our system plays like theres 6 goaltenders on the ice.

Wrong Pyatt is a top 10 slowest skater.

But who cares cause he's scoring.

19 years of religiously analyzing this game, and Henrik Lundqvist says he's the best goaltender (all aspects included) that we've ever seen. There's nothing here anyone can say more meaningful than what we've actually seen out of him, and with the help he's been denied. The Roszivals Reddens Maliks and airheadery couldn't keep this guy out of the top five in any category...

****, if Roszvial didn't take a second and a half to get out of Hank's way a few years ago, he would've had a goal too.(remember when dumbkcuf finally moved there was the opposing players shin pads that snuck behind him...)

Loved Richter, admired Hasek and Roy, forever envied Brodeur's defense system...The one we call The King is best goalie ever. Everyone's fav coming....>>>>AINEC<<<<

Nearly completely opposite yet I disagree with both.

His number would go up even if he retired this summer. Hes essentially been an elite player 8 years with the team and has been the best Ranger every year of his career except for maybe his rookie year when Jagr was a monster.

Love the signature, whether or not you agree with me now (forget [people] who call him overrated lol) you will eventually. HE hasn't let us down 8 years running no matter who his (lackof)supporting cast and he's just one of the handful of all time Rangers that we can say that about.

Don't get me wrong, when it comes to crowning him the best Ranger of all time, I'm nearly all in on that notion.

But best goalie ever? Now we are stretching.

He was still the shining light of our team, fresh as hell, crab lookin thing that moves like nothing we've ever seen! He won that Olympic Gold with his New York Rangers hat on.
Only thing keeping him from Calder was having to compete with the media stars in Ovechkin and Crosby.
I'll never forget it, he appeared and basically even saved me from losing a battle to a bad ass case of depression.

I don't think anything sports related would make me happier than seeing Hank lift the cup.

Well, yeah, I figured that was implied. In 94, Graves was my neighbor for a few weeks before they won, and I remember seeing him on TV lifting the cup and just being so amazed that my neighbor was a champion like that. The only thing that would come close to that feeling at this point would be seeing Hank in a Rangers jersey with the cup over his head. I don't know the guy personally, but he's busted his ass for this franchise in a way that I'm not sure anyone else ever has, certainly not anyone I've seen on their grind game in and game out. What an incredible athlete.

This is something I wish more people realized...

Ryan Miller's career year that really put him on the map: 69 gp, 2.22 GAA, .929sv%
Henrik Lundqvist's CAREER: 511 gp, 2.25 GAA, .920 sv%

We are beyond spoiled.

It's funny their whole basis for saying that Quick is better is 5 playoff series. Let's recap 4 of these series. Blues, Coyotes, Devils, Blues. All 4 teams were below average offensive teams. He won a cup on a team that played INFINITELY better than the Rangers did last year. This year people are drooling over him again, meanwhile his stats are only slightly better against a much worse offensive team.

BTW, the rest of his playoff career he's allowed over 3 goals per game. Other than his Vezina nominated season all of his regular seasons have been just ok (10-11 he was pretty good). Meanwhile Lundqvist has dragged almost every team he's played for kicking and screaming into the postseason.

It's insulting to think that Quick is better. I also saw "Quick, AINEC" post on the main board.

If Quick was a Ranger and Lundqvist was a King (he already is, but lol another day), a lot of Rangers fans would be saying Quick is the best. Quick being from Connecticut and idolizing the Rangers and Mike Richter would be fed through a straw for Rangers fans to eat up through the years. Similarly, if he puts the same performance for the Rangers, people would consider him greatest Ranger ever. I like both goalies, but I hate when Quick gets little respect. I think Hank is better though.

I think we all can agree he will have his number retired at some point, but what do you guys think would be enough to get him into HOF territory? He's already pretty much the best Swedish goalie to play in the NHL, and if he mantains a high level of play and wins a Cup and another Vezina or two, would it be enough?

Cup and he is

1. Best Ranger of all time
2. HHOFer 1st Ballot
3. Generational Talent Goalie

He is already Sweden's best goalie and he'll get many accolades from there too.

It's safe to say he's the best goalie of his generation.

If he can play like this for another 6-7~ years it's definitely a possibility he can be in GOAT talks, or at least top 3 below Hasek and Roy.

I remember in both their rookie years it was a huge debate about who was better. I actively rooted for Miller to give up goals to settle the debate in Lundqvist's favor, haha.

I am getting a chuckle out of them mentioning our "storied history" and how we've never won a road Game 7 in the same sentence.
