a collapse of such epic proportions was even the leading story on ESPN this morning haha

and Ovechkin is a whiney little baby.
basically hinting that the fix was in against the Caps.

wha wha... don't like it? Russia is ----------> that way

I have to say I am impressed the Toronto fans didn't burn down their city.

Lynky... I have to agree.
It was raining when I left for work... But it was still sunny to me.

If I was still a diehard Leafs fan that finish probably would've crushed me. Oh well. That was a crazy game to see live.

The excuse is it's the Nucks. Their window is closed. Burn it down and rebuild. Trade the Sedins for picks. Trade Schneider for a bag of pucks. Fire Mike Gillis out of a cannon. Sell Vigneault into slavery with NESN.

I dont think the Canucks window is anywhere near closed. They are still a very good team

can you though?

with next years Salary cap, and the fact that they refuse to play apart, how many teams can take them both?

Perhaps not "closed", but closing. I think that many find it hard to see them as serious Cup contenders at this point. They don't really have many options other than retooling around a good core and trying again next year. After next season they'll have flexibility to rebuild more comprehensively. The primary objective right now is probably to make a good trade involving one of their goalies, maybe adding a bit of youth and strength up front.

Well with the first round out of the way, now it's time to get on the Senators bandwagon. Go Sens Go! GO SENS GO!

Not necessarily who I think will win, but who I'm now/still cheering for:

Chicago (still)
LA (now)
Senators (still)
NY/Boston (maybe I'm weird but I won't know until the puck drops)

Well I knew you were sarcastic (schnider for bag of pucks), but the Idea of trading the sedins fascinates me, and I dont think you could pull it off

Same teams I'm cheering for, except I'm soundly in the Boston camp in that series.

Canucks should (but hopefully won't) take a good hard look at what Ottawa did in rebuilding from their cup-contending teams

Keep the Sedins and a few other core pieces like Edler, Garrison, and Kesler plus young guys and look to retool in 3-4 yrs

I don't think it's necessary to blow the whole thing up if you're smart/creative about drafting/trading

then again I just downed a 1/2 bottle of nyquil...

Chicago (really close)
LA

Pitt (want to go Ottawa but I am a coward)
NYR

6-2 last round and the only pick I am using is the Rangers that I got wrong.

My picks:

Chicago
LA
Rangers (would prefer Boston, but I think Rangers are going to take it)
Senators (emotional pick - think it's going to be a really tough series for Ottawa)

I went 7-1

Sticking with the same conference final matchups I went with orginally.

Blackhawks
Kings

Penguins
Bruins

I think CHI might sweep, but 5 games at most. Sens will play tough, but PIT should win in 5/6. Red Wings and Senators are the only teams left I see as not true SC contenders. I think Kings/Sharks and Bruins/Rangers could go either way, and should be great series.

You forgot to add...pray like hell for a mid 1st round miracle pick like Karlsson. Barring that, put me in the window has closed on the Canucks camp.

Marc Bergevin is a good looking dude.

That's my observation for today.
