You've seen that in two meaningless games? Impressive.

Who is Smith?

Both are a small sample size with Pirri playing all of 7 meaningless games.

I've seen Pirri over a much larger sample size then seven games. Have you honestly even heard of LeBlanc before he signed with the Hawks? Lord knows I hadn't.

does it matter if we heard about him before? We've seen him play in the NHL for 2 games and I've seen him play for Team USA. He made that team and he was named the NCAA MVP

Two solid games in the NHL that were essentially pre-season games and him performing on European ice don't put somebody ahead of the guy that led the AHL in scoring, especially when what we need is a scoring line center.

My whole point is that after an EXTREMELY small sample size people slotting him ahead of a kid that clearly has paid his dues and produced at a higher level is foolish.

it's also not fair to put Pirri above him while Pirri couldn't lead his team to a PO spot... could see it that way too. It's a good problem to have and we need another Two Way Center that can defend for Kane too. We don't need an offensiv minded C next to Kane. We need a C that can have his back and play D as good as O to give Kane more freedom on the ice

You've seen Pirri play in the AHL!!!!!! only 7 games in the NHL!!!!!!.

I could care less what he has done in the AHL..it doesn't mean anything at all.

I'm not slotting him ahead of Pirri, I am guessing that LeBlanc will be there ahead of Pirri based on what I have seen at the NHL level (as small of a sample as it is).

It's my opinion, not fact, but we'll see when the new season roles around.

2, but they were at the NHL level and he looked like he belonged. Can't say the same for Pirri in his 7 games.

Just because you saw some good out of Pirri in the AHL, doesn't mean he will be that in the NHL. I mean, where's Darren Haydar, or Keith Aucoin, etc?

AHL play means squat.
Even if I saw LeBlanc a bunch of times in the NCAA it would of meant squat.

Except it does matter what players do in the minors, or they wouldn't get opportunities at the big leagues. It's foolish to say that the tool that GMs use to gauge a prospects talent doesn't matter.

Seriously? Then why bother with scouts?

So why isn't Haydar, Taffe, Chris Bourque, etc etc in the NHL? Sure, they use it to gauge prospects, but doesn't mean just because a guy had a bunch of points in the AHL that he will be an every day NHLer is my point.

To see if they can handle the NHL, just because he is leading the league in pts doesn't make him an automatic.

I don't think Handzus should stay. I've liked him for the year, but I'm not sure I want to trust him to be around throughout a full year and playoff run.

He's been brutal these last 2 games. Maybe it is time for him to hang up em, just too slow for today's game.

In a Mayers 13th forward role for near league minimum we could do worse.

To be fair, he doesn't practice because of some kind of injury so obviously he can't do himself justice. That said, get someone else in there who isn't injured because he doesn't even win faceoffs in his current state.

And no, he isn't kept beyond this season.

Because he wasn't playing for Rockford. Both deserve the chance to play their way onto the team. May the best man win.

I would rather fill his role with one of our prospects
