Christian Laflamme was the worst Canadien to be a regular at some time of his career...

For the worst player, I can come up with ... He had an okay career in the NHL, and a great one considering his talent -- winded being very useful everywhere but for 3 or 7 games in Montreal, when he retired..

Enrico Ciccone.

That was PLAIN AWFUL...

If you mean the worst player I've seen in an expanded role (top 6 or top 4 D or starting goalie), I have to go with Patrick Poulin or Traverse. I think Laflamme was a third pairing guy...?

But it wasn't their fault, it was management's fault that they were in that position. If they had lesser responsibilities they might have been fine.

Xavier Delisle. But the guy only played one game, again, back in the dark days.

I deeply disliked Brett Clark when he was here and Vigneault seemed to like him so much.

Normand Baron, Brad Brown, Steve Fletcher, Matt Higgins, Andre Racicot.

Murray Baron also had a very bad stint in Montreal...especially for being an established defenceman.

Nobody, however, did as much damage to the organization as Reggie Houle.

so much hate for Patrick Poulin. I couldn't ever hate the guy cause he gave his all, and skated miles, but really, just wasn't a very good NHLer.He reminds me of Bulis, and getting tons of chances unable to convert.

Traverse is by far one of the worst...(even though he's one of the friendliest).
6'4, 185 lbs...what joke. Same physique as Ribs .

I was disappointed in Zubrus, Berezin, McKay, Baron, Czerkawski...

Biggest disappointment & overhyped to the max, and also most overrated:
Theo (never got us past 2nd round, he always did waaaay too much celebrating when/if he won 1st round). He just collected (still is!) his ca$h with us after getting his Vezina and Hart...

Gerald Diduck - Lasted just 32 games in Montreal before Pat Burns lost his patience.

Sylvain Turgeon - Told a Montreal paper it, "was embarassing to be a healthy scratch night after night." Reporters gave Burns the quote and coach replied, "Well, he's been embarassing us every time he goes out on the ice."

Yes, I am that old.

I loved Pat Burns and I hope he has a speedy recovery from his cancer.
Anyone know how he is doing??

Donald Dufresne was pretty bad. You know a player is bad when you get nervous every time they come on the ice. Anyone remember the young phenom Matt Higgins? Or the great Gary Leeman?

Saw him this summer at the Montebello Hotel resort on the Ottawa River. He seems fine. Seems as big as before.

But remember, David Maley was a Stanley Cup member in 1986. Played a fairly regular shift in the Stanley Cup playoffs...even the final. I remember him scoring a goal!!

# 8 I think!

I love these all-time crappy Habs lists:

Serge Boisvert
Patrick Carnback
Gerry Fleming
Miroslav Guren
Eric Houde
Jean Francois Jomphe
Craig Laughlin
Jocelyn Lemieux
David Ling
Randy McKay
Robert Picard
Ed Ronan
Scott Sandelin
Doug Soetaert
Alfie Turcotte

Yeah, I watched a lot of hockey in the '80s

The wost stint with the Habs was Murray Baron by far. Most of the other players mentioned did not last long. The worst part about Baron is we used Turgeon to get him. You know Baron was bad when at the end of the year Rejean HOule said " He just didnt work out here in Mtl" when he was still under contract. If Rejean thinks your bad then your bad.

IF Im not mistaken Didnt RObert Dirk only play like one shift for us. I remember in his first period he went head first into the boards and never heard form him again.
