Penguins have bigger guns that we do, can't blame Andy or anything.
Vokoun looks like he can be had though, might need to crash him a bit more Friday.
Hopefully we can get the split Friday, had some decent play from Pageau creating some traffic.

Good game Penguins fans.

Sens played a decent game 5 on 5 but just couldn't execute.

Special teams were horrid for the Sens though.

If Malkin plays like this all series, it might be a short round for Ottawa.

I think that they can play a lot better. Cowen giveaways led to 2 goals. That can be corrected. The shorty can be corrected. Take those out and it will help our chances. I don't have a big problem with effort and such although the extra rest may have contributed to the sluggish start and Andy kept us in it.

So Orpik's faults are when he has the puck? And he had one of his better games? He was a complete beast back in his day.

The Penguins didn't look particularly good tonight. Their special teams carried the day, certainly. Pittsburgh will have to make some adjustments in order to solve Ottawa's trap game. They couldn't get anything through the neutral zone or sustain pressure in the offensive zone, particularly in the second period.

I expect Jokinen to be brought into Game 2 for his faceoff skill. That was a very lopsided category in Ottawa's favor.

I honestly thought this was a very boring game to watch. Of course, that is often the case when a team is efficient in playing a trap-style game.

Not if they move Iggy back to his line and put him on his off wing to boot. I defend Bylsma a lot, but **** does he drive me nuts sometimes.

I'm surprised that he was fine after the Gryba walloping. He can get a penalty every shift . A tough, physical defenceman. I have a feeling that Niskanen is going to be targeted next game.

Will Byslma have the balls to drop Iginla out of the top 6? I'm not saying do it now, but it's something interesting to note if the centers he plays with continue to struggle.

By the way, the Pens looked like absolute **** in that 2nd period.

Iggy didn't look great on Sid's line either. I think Bylsma was trying to kick start Crosby by giving him his preferred line mates.

Yeah, that was dumb. I don't really care, though. When Geno feels it, it doesn't matter who's on the wing, he'll produce.

He capitalized off of Cowen's errors, which I don't expect to be an issue as we advance in this series. I thought Malkin wasn't bad, but wasn't really spectacular. Although he did put up the points, so I'm sure Pens fans aren't complaining. I guess if I'm considering his game not his best, and he put up 1g 1a, that's pretty scary.

He was playing with Sutter and Morrow for part of tonight's game.

Seriously. Those were two hard-hitting defensemen running straight into each other. Orpik's tough as nails.

Orpik has the reputation of a tough defenseman who protects the crease well if you come near it. That's why he gets away with a lot out there.

Veteran defensemen get away with a lot. Gonchar is one of them.

Iginla didn't have a great game today but he has been producing during the playoffs. He has 10 points in 7 games now. I don't think he should be punted out of the lineup for one mediocre performance.

It wouldn't make sense to have Iginla-Malkin-Neal as the line again, though. It doesn't make sense to have two natural RWs on one line.

I think he has the balls, but it's still not the smart thing to do. I don't care how many points Iggy has, his play has been very, very underwhelming, especially his board battles.

The problem is, you can insulate him on the top two lines. I'm already weary of Morrow and Sutter being on the same line because Cooke is the only one who can actually skate, so dropping Iggy down to the third and moving Cooke out of there is asking for trouble, especially as a "checking" line.

If anything, I would drop Sutter down to the 4th line and stick Vitale on the third line between between Cooke and Kennedy. They won't score much, but they'll be a pain in the ass to play against, which is typically what you want out of your third line.

IMO both teams play left a lot to be desired there were a lot of mistakes on both teams. The Pens need a lot better forechecking and stop the Sens from setting up in front of TV.And if the Sens give the Pens multiple P/P opportunities they will bury them. Adjustments will be made I wont get over enthusiastic if the Pens win their next game but either way both teams need to pick up their games. GO PENS

I'm surprised that they were talking like Letang was still his partner discussing the hit.

They(Neil) were/was targeting, Crosby. I don't see where anyone is off the target list. It's not like Orpik was trying to line him up all game. It's more like do it when it presents itself.

Morrow-Sutter-Adams, the NHL's slowest line?

LOL I should have clarified. I'd actually sit Morrow and even Adams for Beau and Juice. Juice has to be in the lineup. You stick Joe V. and TK between the 3rd and 4th lines depending on game situations.
