Hardly noticed the 4th line, so I can't really complain there. At most, I thought Kearns was a non-factor. Irwin's breakouts and defensive play still weren't great, He'd be the one I'd bench for Demers.
I disagree on Wingels. His passes are still off, his forecheck has been subpar, and he had no boardwork today.

Agreed. They'll find a way past quick. And then blood will be in the water.

LA is due for a shock. Sharks get 2 nights in a hotel away from distractions (family).

Kings are gonna flop in game 2.

Best outcome: DW parks this team in an SJ hotel for the duration of their post-season run.

At the very least, they should take some more quick shots off when the defenseman gets the puck at least to mix things up a bit and keep the defensive coverage guessing.
Yah they need to bench either Hannan or Irwin and get Demers in the lineup. Also, if they can't get Havlat back, they need to get someone in there that can provide some form of offense because Wingels is providing zero on that third line.

Quick got every single possible bounce today.. Dude must be wearing a rabbits foot and horse shoe under those pads. If the sharks played like they did in the third for the rest of the series they'll be fine. I hope havlat heals soon and they bench Irwin for Demers.

Sharks were sloppy with the puck until the 3rd period.

Whens Havlat coming back?

Desi had a couple of good plays with the puck, but he has no finishing capability.

I agree with the if they carry that 3rd period effort into game two they should win posts...

THis.

No ****, quit whining people. Sharks played incredibly well. Dominated most of the game, had the best scoring chances. Kings got 2 mostly lucky goals. One should have been stopped by a holding penalty. THis particular incarnation of the sharks has been resilient. I expect them to take game two 4-1.

Chill...

Torres was noticeably poor today. Lots of floating. Hopefully he gets better later on because right now he's hurting that line quite a bit.

Same goes for Desjardins and Wingels, but we already knew that from the last series. The third line really needs another player to anchor it as a threat, otherwise it's a waste to put Pavelski there. Might as well move Pavelski up with Couture and Marleau to give it more poise and defensive play, then convert the third line to a checking line with Torres-Desjardins-Wingels.

they are definitely getting their chances but ...IMO the Kings are winning the physical game and that needs to change. Torres and Wingles cant be the only guys throwing the body...that line of Pavs-Cooter-marlaeuu is super soft physically..

sj needs to match hit for hit...

I thought mr. Marleuu played soft on the puck and didnt seem that interested..JT, on the other hand was single handily trying to exert his will..

Wingels and Desjardins. I said it earlier, but either make that line a decent scoring line (replace Desjardins with like Torres or Gomez), or make that line a checking line (move Pavelski up instead of Torres on the 2nd line).

One defensive mistake and one lucky bounce. Other than that, LA had nothing. Sharks pushed the play 80% of the game, if they continue to play like that the goals will come.

Wtf? Galiardi was great, he was our fourth best forward after Jumbo, Pavs, and Burns.

Irwin had a couple of really nice breakout passes, one in particular to Gomez. And I thought he played that stupid 2-on-1 by Boyle pretty well.

Typical, Couture gets a free pass.

Kings played a super solid game. Also, Big Joe was a beast.

And Torres was out for both of them. Turned the wrong way and floated on the first goal, lost his coverage on Richards for the 2nd goal.

Quick will have to steal 4 games for the Kings to win if we keep this up. We just need to steal home ice away from the Kings and head back to SJ 1-1

Overall I thought the Sharks played a decent road game. They didn't get much traffic in front of Quick, but it wasn't because of a lack of effort and you got to give credit to the Kings defense for keeping the front clear.

But seriously, either Havlat needs to come back and we can roll three scoring lines again or move Pavelski up because that third line is awful on both sides of the rink right now.

Thought he played that 2-on-1 like he usually does: poorly.
He didn't take away the shot or the pass. Niemi had to bail them out there.
