Sharks didn't play bad, hopefully they can regroup and get game two.

sj needs to match hit for hit...

I thought mr. Marleuu played soft on the puck and didnt seem that interested..JT, on the other hand was single handily trying to exert his will..
Physical play is not why they lost. They were slow to rebounds and missed way too many shots.

I thought the 4th played well. THey had a few great chances in the first and definitely held their own or better the rest of the way.

Quick was playing so far out of the net, why was nobody effectively crashing the net? Kings' D played great, but there should have been more traffic.

Oh well, **** happens. On to game 2.

The real difference in this game from the previous 4... coutures line wasn't as effective as it has been and the other lines didn't take advantage of the matchups they got.

No, he stole this game. All the Kings have to do is play slightly better to win the series.

I agree with the if they carry that 3rd period effort into game two they should win posts...
totally agree on marleao...he needs to be better..if anyone noticed when Toddr was trying to get ANYONE jumpstarted, he triple shifted JT and kept trying diff guys, but Patty wasnt one of them til very late...says something about what Toddr thinks of Patties game tonight..

I didn't see him get many chances to hold the puck for more than a second or two in the first couple of periods. His few shots were on net, patty on the other hand completely wiffed on several attempts and juggled the puck when it was on his stick despite not being pressured. I think he played worse than couture.

But he was great for the other 58. He and Thornton were doing all the offensive work in the 1st.

Btw, Stoll didn't play after the hit by Torres. If Stoll is determined to be injured and miss time, is Torres gonna get suspended?

Looked to me like he had the pass. Obviously not superbly, but passably. Could be wrong, but that's what I remember.

Man, we need Havlat back so badly. Desjardins, I love your hustle, but you are not a top-9 forward.

This. No doubt. Bet this is all you hear in post game interviews. QUick had a look at every shot, not enough traffic.

Marleau was the only one creating any offense on that line. Couture's chances came off of Marleau's stick. Torres is dragging that line's ability down. He's neither a player that brings a complimentary skill on offense nor one that helps out on the defensive end. It's time to end that line and put Gomez or Sheppard or Wingels or Galiardi up there. Any one of those guys can contribute on at least one side of the puck to compliment Marleau and Couture. Torres simply can't and it's hurting that line that needs to be one, the other, or both in this series.

Both were bad. A positive was that Marleau didn't look completely disengaged today (offensively he was terrible, but he wasn't too bad defensively). Made some huge checks.

Well, Bob talked about it during the intermission and he said that he doesn't think Torres will be suspended. That was assuming Stoll was ok though...

I figured the Kings would take the first game since the Sharks had been off for a full week, but they looked good except for the middle part of the 2nd.

I thought the Kings started to slow down a lot from the latter part of the second and into the third. Post Blues fatigue maybe?

At least Nemo looked great all game. Nothing he could do on either goal IMO.

Hardly a Top-12 forward this season.

Marleau was fine. He tried to make a couple cute plays that were dumb but other than that he was still finishing checks and going into scoring spots. Unfortunately he had no hands tonight and couldn't get his stick on many of the chances. Not for the lack of trying though.

I can't really single anyone out except for Desjardins (and to a lesser extent Wingels), but it's not his fault he's put in a position he's not suited for. Pavelski is wasted on that third line.

He didn't play it poorly. Would you rather he play the shooter and give up an easy pass and tap in?

Hopefully not. Stoll missing time is a big loss for LA.

Except he didn't get a look at every shot. He got blasted point blank a ton of times. He was lucky none of those went in or rebounded to a good place.

Block the passing lane. He pulled a Bieksa.
