That hit didn't look bad to me. Considering what they let the nucks do in round one they better not suspend Torres.

The pass was still open though. That 2-on-1 was definitely all on Boyle's dumb play, but I disagree that Irwin played that well. Not everyone could be Vlasic though.

What Fetus said. He was great the whole time he was with Tinman.

You're simple wrong. Patty had 3 shots on goal, Logan had 2. And you're blaming him for his teammates' inability to get him the puck? Makes sense.

Whiffs can happen because you're facing the wrong direction, moving in the wrong direction, the puck takes a funny bounce, you don't have the ideal gripe on your stick, bad ice, or just plain voodoo. Not something I would rip a player for happening.

I think we played really well. It's just one game, we still ha e a good shot IMO. If we can steal game 2, gotta like our chances.

I can't really single anyone out except for Desjardins (and to a lesser extent Wingels), but it's not his fault he's put in a position he's not suited for. Pavelski is wasted on that third line.
Torres-Pavelski-Wingels is a solid line that wouldn't waste Pavelski. The problem is that they haven't seen that Torres is ineffective with Marleau and Couture and when they're playing against the top guys on the other side, having that weak of a link brings the other guys down.

Nobody honestly though the Sharks would win in 4. Sharks gotta lose one to win in 5.

qucik hockey lesson...hockey is all about MOMENTUM. In order to gain momentum you need to get the puck. In order to get the puck you have make your opponent pay for having it...LA made SJ pay more than the other way around....MOMENTUM to LA

LA will win this series if other guys besides Torres, Wingles, Desi, Shep DONT play harder on the puck...Do you see Brown out there floating around and crusing past guys..no

Hockey is like tug of war...you NEED EVERYONE...and tonight, yet again, we witnessed guys like pattie floating around..hell even Torres wasnt finishing on a regular basis

How do you think the Kings won last year?? They play hard on the puck...that line of Pvs Cootr and Pattie was the softest line out there..

you cant watch guys getting dumped without a response..it KILLS MOMENTUM

There's no reason why it should matter whether Stoll is hurt or not.

Anyway, I think Sharks win on Thursday if they play more aggressive. Need Havlat back though.

Havlat just needs to quit being a ***** and play. Suck it up, nobody's 100% in the playoffs. Torres is not a top 6 player.

Game 2 is a must win game.

It should be telling that about almost a third of our shots came off the stick of Irwin or Gomez.

No. It was hardly worth the two minute charge they called. Penner did the same thing to Wingels.

Now I hope people understand that Torres is a 3rd liner, not a top-6 forward.

That's sort of my point though. If you bump Torres down, you just open another hole on the "top" line because we have no one else to put there. Might as well go with a standard checking 3rd line and keep things simple by moving Pavelski up. It's not like he was lighting it up at even strength in the last series either.

Marleau stood out to me, other posters, and obviously the coaching squad as having trouble tonight. Simple as that.

Getting traffic to the net isn't that easy. The Kings had layers in front of Quick. Not that easy to get through them...

How injured can Havlat be? Clowe could barely put on his jersey, Thornton played with a dislocated shoulder, Beauchemin just played with a torn ACL.
It's not like Havlat's hands are busted. At worst, he'll be Pavelski speed.

Thought Hannan played well, set up Burns in the crease for that backhander that he fluffed, saved a goal on a desperation move, was one of two defenseman not on the ice for any goals against.

Bench Irwin or Hannan next game?

Marleau needs to show some leadership and prison yard shiv quick or something if we want to have a chance. That or play awesome.

I bet there is atleast a half dozen Sharks currently playing that are more injured than Havlat.

Can't play with a broken stick bro.

Sharks did the same in front of their own net, but both of the Kings chances that led to goals came from a point shot. Shots wide for tips or on the rush would do wonders for the Sharks instead of getting outrun on the boards most shifts. I'm not saying they should always take shots like that, but just change things up and don't keep it so simple for the Kings defense.
