that's because he's a writer for the website, not a radio person.

Until Hatcher regains his Bane-like mean streak he left back in Dallas, I don't give a damn.

Please tell me this entire Flyers board tonight is one bad dream, and I'm going to wake up tomorrow, find out we won 6-1 and it's Esche with the torn labrum not Niitty...... Anyone? Please?

I was at the game, Richards might get the decision but it's not like he owned Ovechkin, he more than held his own. Bradley got it worse than Ovechkin

Did the Flyers look as bad as the score suggests? Or did they mostly dominate play just couldn't score (I see the shots on goal was lopsided compared to goals scored)? And were the shots Esche let in as bad as Tim P makes them sound on hockey buzz?

I couldn't watch or listen being out of town and all so I am just curious...

They almost had 50 shots, but they didn't dominate either. However, it's not like they were dogging it, I was pretty pissed that they were getting lit up, but I wasn't I missed the first goal, I was talking to a few friends in my section. 3 of the goals were from near the blue line. When Sutherby scored, I think it went off of Pitkanen's stick, but any shot like that if you're good enough you make the save. Mike Green's goal left much to be desired too, but that was a puck that had eyes. When Zednik scored (made it 2-1) he deflected it, however there still wasn't a screen, sometimes I give differance.

What an awe inspiring performance this evening from Esche, especially after the news that his teammate is hurt and will more than likely require hip surgery. I'm also sure everyone in the locker room is confident that he's the starter. After all, that .776 save percentage and that 5+ GAA can only help in terms of teammate's being confident in your play. Go Robert!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info. I can't wait 'til I have TV access so I can see with my own eyes what they look like. I went to the game on Saturday and was pretty encouraged despite the loss.

But I am bummed (like most folks here) that Niitty is out for a while. I was (and still am) pretty hopeful about the upcoming season. I just would have preferred it if Esche could have done more tonight to make a statement reassuring everyone he is the goalie he thinks he is - even if it is only a preseason game against the Caps just so people won't go overreacting. Shots from the point that the goalie can see must be stopped and it annoys me a little to hear they weren't - preseason or not.

Actually i missed a few words in my last post I meant to say that I was getting pissed they were getting lit up, but I was pretty satisfied with the effort.

Frankly, the only reason I went was to see Ovechkin play and meet up with a few friends from my section. A couple drunk guys came over and started complaining that 2 girls didn't want to take free beers from them, and how they couldn't believe it. They were wasted. Ah the joys of preseason hockey

Dude it's just pre-season. Sure, Esche had a bad game. But our defense, and offense wasnt exactly tearing it up. I hope our whole team players better than this.

Yup, go to the General Board and you'll see a thread entitled "Ovie fights." As of now, it's about the third to last post-from youtube.
