Bogosian is younger, bigger and better than Shattenkirk.

I'd dispute that. Bogosion definitely plays a more physical game but I think shattenkirks the better defensemen and puck mover.

Bogosian plays far harder minutes, and less PP time. Both projected to around 35 points over 82 games. Either way, both are what the Flyers need. Shame guys of this quality are so rarely available.

Bogosian's injury prone. I would say that most would take Shattenkirk over him any day of the week.

Shattenkirk is the better puck mover and offensive defenseman. He wasn't projected for 35 points this year either, closer to 45. He had 46 last year as well. He is the type of defenseman we need. Pair him with a player like Grossmann or Schenn and just let him play his game. Bogo is the more physical player though, but that doesn't mean Shatty can't lay a hit or two.

One minor concern with Bogo also is he is injured quite often. Shatty is a pretty reliable player.

I can just feel a blockbuster trade between the Flyers and Ducks coming this offseason. Both teams coming off a very disappointing season/playoff appearance. Anaheim is not happy with Ryan nor are they with Sbisa. If I am Holmgren, he should target both of them in a trade. The writing is on the wall for this one I feel. Seems like Murray will come knocking here first if he looks to move Ryan, we have been interested in him for some time now.

Discussing with a Montreal fan, we are pretty close to a fair deal for Coburn.

It's just all specalulation, but it's fun to play lol.

I said Coburn for Beaulieu+Preds 2nd rounder(34th overall) is a fair deal. He is insisting on our third rounder coming back. I don't think it needs to be included for one reason, they still have 3 picks in the 35-75 range with on being #36 already. I just feel like it is just someone who is against giving up a pick without another one coming back.

34th overall+Beaulieu for Coburn is a fair deal I feel.

The Ducks certainly had anything but a disappointing season.

Yes they did. Great regular season and then eliminated in the first round of the playoffs being the 2 seed. That is a bad season from what was expected from them. They were the one team that was supposed to challenge Chicago.

Their GM has even said there will be changes. The team will not be the same next year. Queue the Ryan to Flyers rumors.

With the re-allignment coming, I don't think it would be smart to deal Couturier when the team will be facing Crosby, Malkin, Tavares, E. Staal, Nash, and Kovalchuk every year in the playoffs. I'd personally do whatever I could to move a package of Laughton+Read+ before I deal Couturier+ if it lands the team a number 1. Really all depends on how scouts and GMs view the value of Laughton.

They had a good team but that isn't true. I don't know many people who were taking the Ducks over LA before the playoffs started. LA vs. Chicago is going to best one of the best series in a long time.

I do think they were the ones trying to force Ryan onto us earlier this year. The asking price of Schenn + Couturier at last years draft dropped to just Couturier in less than a couple of months is pretty odd.

I totally agree with you. Couturier is needed here for a lot of reason and one is size. You can't coach that. Not saying that Laughton is a weak player but Couturier's 6'4" is tough to pass away. If Laughton and Read can't get you a good defenseman, stay pat. Laughton/Read and #11 should get you close to the top pick in the draft or a Shattenkirk type defenseman.

I have seen every Bogo game in last 2 years and have Shattenkirk in a big keeper league ( watch a few games )

Bogo >>>>> Shatt and its not really close imo.

I may be a bigger fan of Couturier than most, but I still rank him behind Giroux in terms of value moving forward on this team. Laughton may very well be able to slide into that 3rd line center role but that doesn't mean we have to trade Couturier. He isn't the only young, attractive asset in the organization.

Boudreau isn't a good playoff coach. He sucks at adjusting, worse than Lavi.

Habs also have to pony up the bail money for Beaulieu.

He won a Cup with a loaded Hershey team in the AHL awhile back. Never got out of the first round with the Manchester Monarchs in 5 seasons.

Not a lot of people thought they'd make the playoffs at all before the season.
That's how you judge a season, by the expectations beforehand.

You need a new TV, the one you have now is playing tricks on you. Shattenkirk is better than Bogosian. He's also more proven and light years more durable.

Both players are in their young-20s so age is irrelevant.

Yes, Bogosian is bigger than Shattenkirk. So what? Tyler Myers is WAY bigger than Erik Karlsson. Your point?

Bogosian is definitely NOT better than Shattenkirk.
