TSN Power Rankings

We're 16th. Ahead of Boston, San Jose and Dallas, but behind the Rangers and Minnesota?

TSN has the worst power rankings...I put no stock in them at all. They have the first place team overall in the league like 9th. ESPN's power rankings are a lot more accurate.

What's kinda funny about these power rankings is that not even one of them changed since last week.

And Marty Reasoner being a key injury.

Sports Illustrated has us ranked at 12th, up from 13th last week.

Click on "View From The Ice" with the Habs ranking. Here's part of what the article says:

If you're looking for a team to watch in the second half of the season, consider the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs have had an uneven first half, yet they've kept themselves in the top eight in the Eastern Conference.

Isn't TSN the Toronto Sports Network?

I wouldn't put much into TSN's list. The San Jose Sharks are one of the hottest teams in the league right now, but they're 19th... on the opposite side, the Tampa Bay Lightning was one of the worst teams in the league for the month of December, but somehow they managed to be in the 14th position, which means they're in front of us. You can take my opinion for what it's worth, but I think it's safe to say we were better than Tampa in December. ESPN's list is more representative, IMO, of what's really going on in the league.

ha, yes I thought that was funny too. It's almost like they just got around to doing them.

If anyone wants to see toronto in #1 they can check the hockey news rankings where we are rated 19th. Just because espn rates us higher does not mean it is more accurate. THN notes something very important about the Habs: our "longest winning streak since October 23 is one game." Um, that's a good point. Consistency is good, but only if it's consistent winning, not consistent inconsistency.
