Spot on - no reason for the Ducks to do this. Besides, Eberle's new contract kicks in at $6M/yr vs. Ryan's $5.1M/yr.
If the Ducks decide to move Ryan, it will be for a 2C or Top 2 dman as the main piece. The team can't afford to have so much cap money tied up in their top 3 forwards (Getzlaf/Perry/Ryan: $22M for the next few years) when there are other needs.
I don't think it makes sense for the Ducks but I was reading that they'd be open to move Ryan for Edler straight up, which has me perplexed because I would have imagined the Nucks would have had to add. So I think it's fair to say I don't know what the Ducks want for Ryan, either that or they are desperate for a partner for Fowler.
Tempting but no. As a fan who watched Norfolk until the season kicked in, I'd rather wait until Lindholm gets his lick in the NHL. Very responsible in his own zone. Quite a bit like Brodin, but maybe not quite on the same level.
I feel he has 2nd-pairing potential, is he really that bad?
He was horrendous this year, in my opinion. I don't feel he's going to be anything more than a 3rd pairing guy. some Ducks fans disagree. Right now, though, we can all pretty much agree that he is a fringe 3rd pairing guy - just not a guy we should be relying on
