LA has an incredible looking prospect list now. The top 6 have to be near the top if not at the top compared to the rest of the league. LA may not look nice this season but look into the future and WOW. IF it all pans out, LA will be a serious cup contender for years.
Pittsburgh and Florida are right up there as well... Columbus has some amazing talent coming up through the ranks... Phoenix and San Jose are no slouches either. In fact, based on the rookie tournament, I'll take the Coyotes kids and be quite comfortable. There are a lot of teams actually that can boast future NHL talent in their organizations, but yes, in 2-3 years, with Lombardi's shrewd manouevering, the Kings should compete.
Interestingly, that's just where we were during the lock-out season. Then Cam, Brown, & Gleason graduated and Tambs & Grebs got traded so we became #24.
Then all of a sudden, BAM!, and we're back up to #4. Simply incredible....
Nah, it's all good. Some people are (rightfully) very high on Kopitar right now, and some may even put Kopitar ahead of Johnson.
I am very high on Kopitar, but I will concede that Johnson is the better prospect. Still, we have two elite prospects from the 2005 draft class. That's pretty frickin' amazing.
As a Kings fan, I can't remember being this excited about this teams future. I can't remember having this much talent either. Just look at all the excellent prospects we have too.
I was excited to Get O'Sullivan and to finally see Kopitar play. These two guys alone, is a lot to be excited about.
Landing Mr.Jack, made me lightheaded with joy. I can't seem to get it off my mind.

After watching Kopitar play, I know why people are so high on him. If someone didn't tell you your watching a 19 year old play, you wouldn't know.
I thought we would be 3-4. Sounds realistic to me at this point. It's been along time before something this good has happened to L.A. and yes, it is great being a Kings fan. Lucky has finally come our way.
