Their prospect pool is so weak, I can't see them moving one of their best prospects in such a deal. I think they'll give Bryzgalov one more season, and if he doesn't make the most of it they'll buy him out next summer and address goaltender then.

There is a new report of him making more bizzare comments, some of which rip on Philly. I think they're going to rid themselves of that headache ASAP. They have plenty of young players and a high pick. You could be right, but I don't think they shut the door on moving prospects.

I can't imagine the chaos Bryz interviews would cause in Buffalo considering he is crazier than Miller and english is his second language.

ugly contract, uglier buyout tho

Let the Flyers deal with their own mess there. That's a hideous contract.

Let the Flyers pay out for their own trash. There is no reason to do them any favors, none at all.

Snider will just use his Comcast Spectacor money to buy out Bryz if it came to that. He doesn't need other teams to bail him out of bad financial commitments.

Other teams are in the same boat (they can afford it!), but one of them may need/want more than two buyouts. That may be a fit for Pegula bucks.

I understand that. But Philly won't be doing that.

What are the odds that Regier and Cheveledeyoff revisit the rumored Burmistrov/Stafford talk?

Burmistrov would be quite the addition. While these stats may be skewed, NHL.com shows he had 106 hits and just 17 giveaways this year. He'd instantly become our most physical and defensively responsible pivot.

Maybe so but I'd still take him for Stafford. Doubt it could make the team worse and who knows, he may take the next step in his development here.

Would rather have a draft pick for Stafford than Burmi.

I don't see why they wouldn't at least have another conversation about it, now that there's no pressure to get a deal done, unlike deadline day. Both obvious change-of-scenery guys, but if I remember correctly Darcy wanted a pick on top of Burmi for Stafford. I'm sure there's a deal that could be made with those two, maybe the Sabres could take on some of Stafford's salary to get the pick they wanted.

I would have no isue with this at all - I think Burmi would be an excellent linemate/teammate for Grigorenko (and Makarov to a lesser extent) going forward. Another possibility I would consider is something like Grabovski+2nd for Stafford+4th (pick for salary compensation) if TO is serious about re-signing Bozak.

You wouldn't trade Stafford for Burmistrov? I don't care if we're getting ****ing Terrell Owens to lace up the hockey skates and play for us, if it gets Stafford off this team I will be thrilled.

Age is a factor in this.....

If the plan is to keep Vanek then Im fine with Grabo...but if they are trading Vanek then I'd rather have Burmistrov.

If they deal for Grabo I would ask Toronto to retain $1.5M per year of his contract. Then Stafford's cost to Toeonto is the saem as Grabo's cost....and Grabo's cost would be the same as Stafford's.

With Burmistrov...if Buffalo is looking for something more....a simple solution to this would be a 1st round pick flip of MIN at 16 for WPG at 14.

How about getting a quality character player for Stafford instead of another headache??

Are you implying Stafford is a headache? He may not be a great hockey player, but I wouldn't consider him a headache.

Stop Winnin implied that he is, and that he'd trade Stafford for about any return. My answer is that if he thinks Stafford is a problem, why trade him for another problem?

Sometimes a trade shakes a player into action to be the player others see in him but he has not brought forward. At least there is some interest there from the Jets in Staff -- if they can leverage that into making a hockey trade, great. At this point, it's probably going to be scratch-and-dent for scratch-and-dent. Burmistrov's issues may be why Regier reportedly asked for that additional second rounder -- a bit of insurance against the rumors of the kid being uncoachable/headcase.
