It would not at all be unreasonable to see a third line of Morrow - Sutter - Iginla. How many teams have defensive pairings deep enough to matchup with the lines Pittsburgh can roll out? Again though, that is on paper. In reality the Pens were healthy for most of the Islander series and they matched up just fine.

As an aside, came across this example of fandom that makes me want to stab my eyes out. What ever would possess someone to manscape their apparently voluminous chest and belly hair into an expression of support for their team?

Part of me feels like I should remove this for offensive images and the welfare of my corneas.

Why would someone do this to themselves? LOL

I think Cowen just had a bad start to his game. I think Hamonic may learn more from watching Cowen...

I would not agree, worse player on the Pens in reference to stick work is Kunitz. I liked Orpik and Cooke in the last series.

I came away pretty unimpressed with the Sens in game one. However:

1. They are without Spezza, and that obviously hurts them.
2. I was unimpressed with the Isles in game one of the last series, and we all know how that turned out.

Here's to a better game two on Friday.

Only one of those is a penalty.

Cooke has 13 fights to his name; Orpik has fought 8 times. Are they enforcers? No, but that's not their job. There's also no reason to pretend like Neil was a saint there either. Both of them acted foolish, and they both deserved matching minors.

Orpik gave Neil a little shot will he was in a headlock and being punched in the back of the head.

Not every player needs to fight whoever you think they should fight.

Orpik is a top pairing defensemen for the pens. Neil is on the 4th line. If Orpik fights Neil, pens lose, no matter who wins the fight. If anyone is being a idiot here, its Neil who is trying to start something with a player who he knows has no intention of fighting him. Go pick on Deryk Engelland

Players are free to do all those things back to those guys. Why does there need to be a fist fight?

A coward would blend into the background, not constantly be highlighted, risking his own safety for the inevitable retaliation. They're the opposite of coward, but I understand that term is an often abused one these days as a general insult that ignores the word's actual meaning.

Well DB has gone back to his butt-ass lines in practice today. If that holds up the second line will likely go back to how it was early against the Isles, spending extended shifts in their own zone all game. Sens can expect a break on defense, a boost to offense, and some freebie power plays. Basically a worse opponent.

Hey Penguins fans, what does it feel like to score a power play goal?

Hitting is a crucial part of the game that every player must do. Fighting is not.

Lookes like Neil is the coward for going after someone he knows won't fight. Why didn't he do that to Engelland? Complete coward if you ask me.

Yes, we all know Neil only targets people who don't fight.

The coward is the fake tough guy, Orpik...a hit and run specialist a player you can all be proud of. Then again, you have a few of those.

Tomorrow we will see what type of punishment will be tolerated by Orpik and the Penguins.

Orpik is exactly like Kronwall. Throw a big hit, see no need to drop the gloves because you're bigger and stronger than the guy you just laid out.

Sorry that he sticked Neil who was headlocking and punching his skull. Real sorry about that.

Speaking of hit-and-run specialists, we'll see how many more cross-checks to the face Conacher can take after he keeps poking the bears.

Brooks Orpik is what he is...you don't have to apologize for him. I am sure he is proud of his style of hockey, he learnt from the best, a certain guy on your team. He is nothing like Kronwall. Kronwall doesn't act tough, he just hits people.

Little Cory Conacher? Come on now...

You guys have 1 bear.

Now that we know it's not a penalty, I'm hoping the Sens start doing it themselves.

I'm positive that was the first ever game of Orpik's you've ever seen.

To Cory Conacher, everyone is a bear. Maybe he should calm down before Douglas Murray engulfs him.

I keep reading things like this and am not getting it.

People always are fighting the last war.

Virtually every other post from Sens' fans that I read is some variation of 'we need to hit the Pens more, that is how you beat that team!' Really? Why is that? Because a year ago Philly got under this teams' skin and people remember Giroux hitting Crosby that one time? A third of this team is different than even the team that began the year. The team is big, nasty and mean. They are the ones who will be hitting you. Speed is what drives this team nuts, they would welcome a game of hitting.

How did that hitting work out last game when the Sens tried it?

The way to beat the current edition of the Pens is the opposite what most are saying. With speed and skill. I think of this scene from the Princess Bride as symbolic of the Isle series:

So by all means go ahead and hit the Pens. Hit em over and over, they would welcome that kind of game. Murray, Orpik, Iginla, Morrow, Neal, and on and on. The Pens were built for that kind of game. Just because the team has some skill does not automatically mean it is soft. Just watch the team and see that this is barking up the wrong tree.
