Not to sound like a major homer, but a lot of the calls made against Marty this season were pretty chinsey.

Choking women is such an integral part of living life to the fullest.

Would be relevant if, you know, Kane actually choked a girl.

Don't you think it speaks volumes about a person's character that nobody gave that rumor a second glance to question it?

Pretty telling that only Blackhawks fans think Kane should win, whereas practically everyl fan in the thread without a horse in the race has picked St. Louis.

Wait, now Kane is a bad guy because people believe whatever they read on the internet? And actually some journalists did their research and talked to the police, who responded by saying Kane had done nothing worthy of a citation. Unless choking girls isn't worthy of a citation anymore, I'm pretty sure that was 100% bs.

What a homer.

Anyways, St. Louis should win. A lot of calls made against Marty this season were pretty chinsey.

Hate to be a homer but how can you not put Datsyuk here? He is always 100% class.

Pat Kane? Really?

Seriously. I think he got called for a high stick this year. That is physically impossible for Marty.

I don't know, I feel like awards should matter for higher goals like getting into the Hall of Fame. No one will get into the Hall of Fame based on winning Lady Byngs. For lower goals, it won't get players extra money when they're UFAs, so I doubt they care.

The only reasons I can think of for having this award is tradition and PR.

This is complete fabrication.

Hawks fans would have no problem with MSL winning it. We're simply defending Kane being nominated against bull **** arguments about off-ice issues in the past.

It is pretty hard to get called for a penalty when you don't compete for the puck in the defensive zone.

You haven't watched a Hawks game this year. Kane has been a backchecking machine and creates a ton of turnovers.

Who would have thought that Moulson would be eligible for a major NHL award?

I get that Kane has matured, I actually believe that and think it's somewhat visible, but he still doesn't scream "gentleman personified" on the ice to me. I think it's a bit of a case of Kane being a perfectly marketable still relatively young star player on a big club, who's positive development is being highlighted by this. I don't think it's a sensible nomination, yet.
