Happy to do it. I enjoyed it (mostly). We'll see what next year brings, I'd like to try and do it again, but we'll see.

I would like to take a go at the off-season Prospect polls this year as well. I have something I would like to add to make it a little better (more enjoyable). Other than that, you won't see me on the boards that much in the summer time. It's my off-season. Try and stay off computers that time of year.

Prospect poll sounds good. Won't be around to much after the draft myself, heading for summer camp.

Thanks Scott, just about time to get ready for the draft. Should get a good prospect with pick 15.

I thought his increased point production could have been attributed to playing along side the stars mentioned above, but Theoret played his best hockey late in the season in Barrie and in the post season when he led one of the best lines in the OHL Playoffs.

The Islanders WILL sign him. (still holding out hope for Kichten, but that seems bleak at this point).
While playing with Strome and Ritchie may have buffered his totals some, I think increased role/ IT is the big reason he finally started producing. Hard to be .75-1PPG if you're a bottom 6 forward with very little special teams play. He got ice and was pretty consistent all year with it.

After being a long time suffering Islander's fan, I'm used to the draft being the most exciting time of the year for Islander's fans. Thankfully, we had an exciting regular season and playoffs, AND our arena situation is resolved, so the draft may finally take a back seat for us fans. Though I've been a draft fanatic since 1979. 15 is a good spot, some really nice prospects still available. I'm psyched for June 30th.

I like 15 because we have a chance to get a guy who slides down in the draft, much like Foresberg and griegerenko, although they didn't slip as far as 15...you get my point

Not for nothing, but I find that having to draft at #15 makes it more exciting this year. We've been drafting top-5 for so long, it's a nice change. It also means we're finally moving up in the world which is the best part. I'm ok with taking whoever the BPA is. Hopefully some highly rated kid falls to us and we pounce.

I understand what you mean PW about excitement. Between picks 8-14 who knows what is going to happen so someone we like should be on the board at 15.

Congrats to the Swiss team for joining Sweden in the WC final. Nino Niederreiter with a goal and an assist in a 3-0 victory against the U.S. team.

I love how confident he looks. I hope he brings that confidence into NYI training camp.

Hmm, Nino has a great shot at MVP. How cool would that be? I may have to stop hating him.

Niño taking the early lead for RW1 next year?

1. Niño
2. Strome
3. UFA
4. A re-signed Boyes (please no)

The whole Swiss team plays so hard, they are excellent defensively as well. Niño played a solid game, unspectacular but effective. Had some nice rushes, worked hard, hit, played excellent defensively once they were up a goal.

He's a second line player, 2nd PP, 2nd PK unit - but an important player who is the best on the team in tight with the puck on his stick.

Looks like a dramatically different player than the guy who lined up with Reasoner and Pandolfo in 2011.

He's still got a lot to learn, needs to get quicker and stronger but his on-ice offensive and defensive awareness are far far better than the Niño who played in the NHL.

I think he's saying Okposo should be considered for 1st line RW.

I see his point, the job doesn't belong to anyone just yet, so why count out Okposo?

I know, he played a handful of games there in the beginning of the season, and was lousy. But the Kyle Okposo games 1-8 was not the same Kyle Okposo in April and May.

I'm excited about camp. The Islanders have a good group of forwards already. Goals will be scored. If they stay healthy, even Capuano can't screw it up with his line-up cards from Mars.

okposo is by far the best RW on the team. however - i think our 2nd half resurgence was due to rolling out 2 legit scoring lines and 4 solid lines in general. i think okposo has to anchor line2 and my list was for the spot next to JT

if u think KO should be on my list -- thats fair but i really like our team with JT91 and KO on seperate lines

At this point I'd be suprised if Nino didn't take the 1st line RW slot. Looks good in all 3 zones, physical and a terrific shot.

Nino has had a great year. 28 goals in the AHL as a 20 year old, and now a terrific WC'S. He's gonna come into camp with a ******** of confidence. I think he'd really have to crash and burn at camp to not make the team. Really excited about his future. Gonna be an excellent power forward.
