Best player in the OHL (06-07)

since last year's thread did so well i thought we should start a new one for this season. so who do you think will be/is the best player in the ohl this season?

fwiw, despite being a rangers fan, i think that bryan litte (see avatar) is the best player in the ohl right now. i think it's close between little and bobby ryan and it could work out that ryan will be the better pro but i think little is a better junior player. what do you think?

I was just going to make this thread!!! Wow.

I think Bobby Ryan is the OHL's best player coming back, and if he had better endurance and explosiveness he never would have been sent back in the first place. Ryan got tired late last year, so hopefully for Owen Sound he doesn't this year. He's a tremendously dominant offensive player when he's on his game.

There are many others as well...

EDIT: You can make an argument for Marc Staal, as I don't believe he'll stick with the Rangers...

I think Bobby Ryan is the best, and there are a few runners up - Little, Downie (if he plays his game and cuts the crap), Tavares, Couture.

I think the crown will be Tavares' next year - the kid is amazing.

I'd probably switch your top two. I think Little's skating and more dynamic ability makes him a better player than Ryan.

Bobby Ryan is the best player in the OHL. I'd say Marc Staal is a very close second then you have guys like Tavares(who the gens are counting on to produce) Bryan Little who are all up there..

Bryan Little is the best player in the OHL.

I would argue that Ryan means the most to his team.

I think it's pretty clear after tonight that this discussion begins and ends with Theo Peckham.

My Choices... two have remained the same

Left Wing: Cory Emmerton (Kingston Frontenacs)

Center: John Tavares (Oshawa Generals)

Right Wing: Sergei Kostitsyn (London Knights)

Defenceman: Jakub Vojta (Ottawa 67's)

Goalie: Kevin Lalande (Belleville Bulls)

How is John Tavares on these lists. He is an amazing prospect and all and may be in the top 5 next year but this year i can name at least a dozen players more valuble then him.

Bryan Little
Marc Stall
Bobby Ryan
Sanguanetti
Dan Ryder
Downie
Donati
kostystin
Emmerton
Guadagnolo
Lalande

I would take any of these players over him at this point.

Watch out for a guy named Patrick Lusnak. Just because they have not played in the OHL yet does not mean they won't dominate. Also Nick Foligno is going to be a force this year.
And by far defence wise especially with the extra time this year with the Rangers will be Staal. But Little will more than likely win the scoring award this year and be the best player in the OHL.

Get #67 back in the Nickel City and your problems will be over, you Wolves puckbunny! Why don't you and Marc Staal get engaged? It seems to be a trend among the brothers right now!

Either you know this Alison person personally, or this is some serious irony.

Isn't this sort of like Pierre McGuire calling Peter Loubardias a bad broadcaster?

Nope we know not eachother. Actually Trippy and many others know me on the noof as Pocketjacks. Have I ever come across as a puck bunny? . HP really how did what I say come across as nothing more than my opinion on how players play? Not about there hair or them being spoiled brats or about how much I love such and such a player? Really grow up. I base my opinions on what I see on the ice.

PJ/Alison - I had no idea you're female! (which pretty much confirms that you're anything but a puckbunny).

Welcome to HF. We look forward to your posts. Logical and fair. What a concept!

Come on... Alison needs to realize that I believe that Benoit Pouliot was the best player in Sudbury. I know my talent when I see it, too. She comes across as thinking that Marc Staal was God's gift to the Wolves and he wasn't entirely. Neither was Benoit, I can admit that. But the way she talks about Staal... yada yada yada! Marc needs to grow up. I am remembering a specific incident in Kingston during the playoffs last year.

You wanna know more about that Staal incident? I will tell you only if you want me to.

Please stop. Now.

I couldn't possibly care less what inside information you have, or you think you have.

I know Alison from another board and chat, and she's never posted anything even remotely close to what you do. She discusses hockey, and does it well. Not players personal lives, not their looks, not their hair.

Oh, and for the record -- Marc Staal is one of the top players in the league. Get over it.
