That makes a lot of sense. Thanks.

If RDS is not incl, then what would be the total viewers of both CBC and RDS.. thanks

Boston-NY, big for the NHL?

Bruins-Rangers isn't really a rivalry compared to other Boston-NY rivalries in other sports. But the NHL has to be happy that these two rival cities are in a playoff series. We all know about Red Sox-Yanks. The Celtics and Knicks just faced each other in the playoffs. Glad to have this rivalry continue in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. In a sense, Boston sports fans have a chance to "avenge" the Celtics' loss to the Knicks.

Well is the 1.2 across all demographics? Because if the 1.2 is just between the 18-49 demo that calculation doesn't work.

It sucks that Puck The Media died. That place was a goldmine for hockey ratings. They had everything and it was updated daily.

Steve has posted ratings on Twitter daily during the playoffs.

He has a pretty good source to boot

It's hilarious that he constantly criticized everybody else for putting hockey on the backburner and then essentially did it himself.

Blogs are a dying breed, in favor of Twitter feeds. Follow him on Twitter and then tell me has put hockey on the backburner...

Rangers-Bruins drew a 1.4 overnight as per @sportswatch. Would be another playoff high for NBCSN.

Spurs/Warriors (NBA) - 3.4
Rangers/Bruins - 1.4

Is there any site that collects and compares ratings over the years? I'd like to see trend data.

and the league scheduled rangers games 1 and 2 on the same night as the knicks. good news is most of the NBA 2nd round series is over but 3rd round and finals are their best in terms of competition and tv ratings.

Wonder if there is an advantage of having NHL playoffs start after the NBA starts?

Imagine if the Knicks weren't competition? Hmmmmm Pretty happy with the 1.4.....I'll say that's about 1.6million-1.7million.

Probably closer to 1.8, but no need to nit-pick.

IU...do you have the ratings for Philly during the playoffs?
I'm curious if they are watching or not?

Pick any night when the NHL and NBA playoffs are on. Any random night.

Sports Business Journal does some type of annual compilation by year and team/city for the major leagues. I don't recall if they included the national ratings.

NBA has been better.

1.5-2 range for hockey, NBA has been about 3.5

If it was Flyers vs Sixers, it's another story for sure.
