We're good. We got this.
I moved here in the early 2000's. Probably missed this but heard about it. Did that really happen? That's hilarious.

This series will end with Karlsson and Letang at centre ice, furiously scrubbing their scals to see who can shampoo their flow the fastest.

Winner moves on

Yeah seriously. Don't get why certain Pens fans want to dress no skill enforcers in anything other than a Flyers series.

they actually only beat the pens 33% of the other games. 4-2 series win for the pens. 6 games total. thats a third. Boy they got out of that series by the skin of their teeth, huh?

fact remains that everyone on the pens sucks and if we win it will be a miracle. No way we can beat ottowa. We're underdogs.

lol do you even actually like watching the penguins, or are you just depressed all the time?

Yes, it is sadly true.
The person got into a small boat and went out there with the goal of proving that if it was navigable it could be considered farmland or marshland and thus Heritage property. It didn't work, everyone laughed at the guy but wow.

Did you watch the games? The series honestly could have gone either way. Except for the first game the Islanders gave the Pens all that they could handle. Ignore the record, that series was much closer than 4-2 indicates, and the Islanders gave me a real scare.

Not all of them, my friend. Trust me, about 50% of my own fan base, I wouldn't be seen in public with. The other 50 though, are generally good people.

All cities definitely have their fair share of fans who are lunatics and think anyone who criticizes their team should be tarred and feathered and shackled in the square.

Not a fan of the Sens, but I don't despise them either.

They are one of the teams that I notice come into the Pittsburgh thread on Sportsyapper and actually have intelligent conversations.

Except for the Matt Cooke hit on Karlsson, I think 3/4 of your city when nutty when that happened.

The conversation around here has been too cordial. Neil or Cooke will do something tonight to set the tone just about right.

I'm really hoping for a better game tonight. Not that I don't like seeing the Pens win games easily, but the "high" you feel from winning a close game is like nothing else. The overtime goal in game 6 against the Isles was such a great feeling.

No, it really wasn't close. Watch the end of game 6 and tell me the Penguins were in trouble at any point. The only "trouble" was self inflicted (Fleury and a lack of urgency...if the Penguins didn't know they had it in hand they would have thrown the body more, won more puck battles and generally played actual Penguins hockey)

Yeah, I would take an easy win in a heartbeat.

Not that I expect it, but that would be so nice after what happened starting game 2 last round.

I do expect that lesson to be taken to heart by the Pens, and they will come out prepared for the Senators to come out as if it were an elimination game for them. At least better prepared than they were for what the Islanders brought last round. But this game scares the hell out of me.

That's pointless. If the Sens want Neil and Kassian to run around and do stupid stuff, the refs will pull them out, give them 10min misconducts, game misconducts and put the Pens on long powerplays that would just obliterate whatever confidence the Sens would have left at that point.

So I welcome their goons being regulars. Ours should stay an AHL'er.

The pressure the Isles put on the Pens is what forced the turnovers. When players don't have enough time, they make rash decisions. No one had done that to the Pens all season. They weren't prepared. It was more than Fluery and the Pens making mistakes. The mistakes were forced by the Isles offensive zone pressure and their tenacity.

Give credit where credit is due and stop believing the Pens can only be beaten if they beat themselves.

Agreed, the Sens have never come back from a 2-0 deficit in a series, so it is essentially an elimination game for them. Not that history will definitely repeat itself, but a 2-0 deficit is not come back from all too often.

not just here, the coaches have gotten in on the cordial act:

Quote:
Dan Bylsma, believes MacLean might be the most-deserving of the finalists.

"He deserves it," Bylsma said Friday morning before Game 2. "I wasn't casting a vote, but certainly what he's done, you talk about last year coming into an Ottawa Senators team that he didn't know what to expect or where they would be at, he did a great job last year.

We can only hope. Josh Yohe of the Trib says he often misses morning skates because he gets morning migraines sometimes, so hopefully that was the only case.
