Stalberg looks great this year, I think. He's creating a lot of offense himself for his line and not really playing with the stars of the Hawks. I'd imagine as a UFA a team would give him $4m to fill a 2nd line spot.

Bickell has a nice skill set, plus size/strength. But despite this size/strength, he's still kind of a perimeter player, which would make me wary about committing too much term/money to him. Having said that, he could have another gear if put in a more prominent role and plays with more of a net drive. But I think teams would likely regret giving him more than $2.5-$2.75m/yr.

I see Stalberg leaving for around 4M a year. I see Bickell staying for around 2M a year, he loves it here and doesn't want to leave. He has been the lowest paid player in the NHL for 3 years running and doesn't even care. He just loves to be a Blackhawk, truly unique player in modern sports, can't really say I have seen anything quite like this before.

With Stalberg in Q's doghouse and Bickell having a nice playoffs, both seem to be playing themselves out of Chicago. It's now hard to imagine a scenario where Stalberg re-signs. Maybe the Hawks can work out something with Bickell, but they have too many fully ripe 3rd-liners in Rockford to justify paying anything close to either's UFA value in a cap-down year.

Anyone want to offer a pick up for their pre-UFA rights? I think there would be a lot of action for Stalberg in the UFA market.

Stalberg so far on year = 8 goals + 13 assists with a +16
Bickell so far on year = 9 goals + 13 assists with a +11

Both on Hawks 3rd line all year

Stalberg has size/speed combo while Bickell has size/physical play combo

I think both could land Kopecky/Ward 3M type range
I would love to see Detroit go after Stalberg he would be pretty lethal on Helms wing I would give Stalberg 3 years at $9 mil Detroit would have a pretty solid 3rd line with Stalberg.

Agreed, he was my fave Leaf, prior to the trade.

If they want a long term deal I could see them getting a talbot-like deal so 5 years at 10-12 mil, however that is unlikely.

I'd love Bickell on the Habs. I'd go as far as 3-3,5M for 4 years.

Both are decent guys to have on your team. I think they both get 3 year deals at 3 million per season.

Stalberg and Bickell are the type of guys I imagine Gillis will pursue for the Canucks. The team needs to get bigger, faster, younger and cheaper next season.

I don't think Gillis will be able to persuade very many players to become Vancouver Canucks this off-season.

I'd give Stalberg 3.5 from New Jersey for 3/4 years

THese guys are both decent players, but they are best used as third line players on elite teams.

Some one will give them 4-5 years deals, especially if they want to keep the cap hit reasonably low.

Paying your bottom 6 players $3-4M on long term deals is not the way to continue being an elite team. Being able to replace them with younger and cheaper players is the way to remain an elite team. You just need to ensure you have the prospects to do so. That's where most elite teams fail (like Vancouver, in signing everyone and eventually getting older and too expensive.

They'll both crack 3 years and 3.5 mil. Any less is unrealistic.

Bickell's agent has to be thrilled with his play in playoffs

Every game he is adding $$$ to his next contract

I think the Prust contract is a good comparable for what Bickell might get. His strong playoffs certainly helps his case to possibly get more.

4 years - $10M is my guess for Bickell.

We talk about Stalberg a lot on the Preds forum; would love to have him. I think he has the potential to crank his points total up materially with top six minutes (which he would get in Nashville).

Want Bickell on the Bruins, but don't want to get into a bidding war with someone like Montreal for him. Montreal is a team that could really use him, and if his offer is going up over $3.0m annually, count the Bruins out.
