If you hit any team that is not completely devoid of offense like Ottawa I think your screwed and if spezza comes back and our centers slide down one spot I'm not sure this will be a short series either.

Yes because they got Pittsburgh to play stupid hockey and open up the game. NYI did a great job of getting Pittsburgh to open up, I don't think Ottawa has the forwards for that, they have to find a different way.

This is the advantage of having both Crosby and Malkin on the same team - if one of them is having a down game, the other can still step up and win the game by himself. Malkin wasn't having a bad game this time by any means, but he couldn't bury his chances. However, it didn't matter with Crosby playing as well as he did.

I think so.

The one thing the Pens have going for them, obviously, is that if Crosby isn't going, then Malkin probably is. If Malkin isn't somebody else is. They have a boatload of weapons.

But I really have not seen a game where all of those weapons were going on the same night yet. Sure defenses are playing certain lines tighter than in the regular season, but I have to think one of these nights it is going to explode. Maybe not.

Yeah for sure. I mean any game there's tons of guys who have the potential to show up, they're not yet but their is for sure tons of guys who could step up. It's kinda funny how you'd think they would be a lot better.

I agree. We've yet to see the best out of this Penguins team, by a long shot.

When did I say we'd be a lot better without Crosby?

He had a lot of rough nights his rookie season.

But yeah, this has to be hard for him to deal with.

Reminds me of 2007 first round series, except, switching roles. Pens trending to win in 5 or 6 but surely, young talented Sens team learning how to win from the best. Hopefully next year we'll be in SCF?

Nevertheless, series ain't over yet. Anything can happen. Yet a comeback against the Pens would demand a lot of character.

One thing i know is that he's better than Fleury that's for sure

I think you misunderstand I meant a lot better overall as a group with Crosby. I'm not saying their bad I'm just saying I expected more I guess.

Thank God for Vokoun. And thank God for Shero for getting a very good backup.

What do Sens fans think of Greening? He seems very dangerous and has some beautiful skill.

Please tell me you kidding. The Sens also would have underestimated them as well. They're a really good team just inexperienced. Exact same scenario the pens went through in 07 vs the Sens. Then what happened the next year?

We struggled with them last series and now were up 2-0 on you.. Just saying

They've potted 8 goals in 2 games and chased Andy (whom we were led to believe was the second coming of Hasek). What more do you want out of this offensive?

what a gutsy statement.

i think Brad Thiessen could have performed better than Fleury in these playoffs.

I was curious about something tonight and just looked it up...

Crosby and Malkin were paid $16.5M in salary this season.
The 12 forwards Ottawa iced tonight were paid $16.04M in salary this season.

He is theasteat skater on the sens roster and built like a brick his nickname in the AHL was Hercules xD.

Because of his speed and strength Sens can slot him in anywhere from first line LW to fourth line LW and he doesn't look out of place, however he doesn't always show the best finish and he doesn't show top line hi key IQ.

Real smart, good attitude, hard worker.really like this kid.

He played very well tonight. Was probably one of his best game of the season but he's been average this year. He's been hesitant and seems to be overthinking things.

Disappointing but hoping to see him bounce back and go back to his old form.

Eric Godard has a Stanley Cup ring, too. that doesn't mean the Pens should have kept him around for much longer.

let's be honest: Fleury has NOT played well in the playoffs this year. it's the big reason why he's on the bench. however, i don't think Anderson is lightyears ahead of him either. was he better in the first round? absolutely. is he better now? that's debatable since Fleury hasn't played since the first round.

Some pics from the game.

The crowd was rocking the place for a good part of the night. It did have a couple lulls in the third when we got up, but first two periods and parts of the third it was as loud as I have heard it. A picture is worth a thousand words, my GF had to put her fingers in her ears as her ears hurt several times.

Here is from the our seats at the game.

I would compare 2009 Fleury as 2013 Carey Price with a great team in front of him. High expectations, still waiting for evidence. Except, Fleury had a great roster in front of him.

His two best games of the year that's for sure. He is big, fast and has a good shot but hasn't done anything this year. It's not that he is not trying though... I think he lacks hockey IQ.
