1-0 Blades

Zadarov looked bad on that one. Really didn't see Saskatoon opening the scoring in this one, they were getting dominated.

Really liking this kid's game. Solid puckmover with a physical side.

Please draft an impact forward with the 1st, not a defenseman.

Horvat is going to be a really, really good two way player.

I would go with the best player available. And we'll likely draft a forward considering where d-men are ranked by scouts in this draft.

If we draft a defenseman 1st round I am gonna go mad. The defenseman can be left for the second or third round.

We don't have a second round pick. I'd hope our management is smart enough to take whatever player they think will be the best NHL'er, regardless of position.

Horvat is gonna go top 10 now and Lazar not far after. Neither will be available for our pick.

I wish we still had a 2nd

Based on absolutely nothing, I think it's likely we'll trade Luongo at/before the draft and we'll probably get a 2nd in return (as part of the package).

Domi just DESTROYED a Saskatoon player with a 100% clean shoulder to chest hit.

Yeah, Domi is a stud. He'd be top 10 if he was bigger.

Doubt he falls to us but we'd be stupid not to take him.

Franzen has more grit physical play, but worst skater.

Do you actively scout these players, or did you just make all of this up? The fact that you have Mantha listed twice with different comparisons makes me think it's the latter.

Mantha isn't very gritty at all. If anything I'd compare him to Tomas Vanek.

Tends to float or disappear at times, but has an elite shot and high offensive hockey IQ.

These comparisons are so random. Ladd and Rychel have exactly nothing in common. Lazar and Callahan? Horvat and Fisher? Mantha and Franzen/Wheeler?

First one was supposed to be Zykov = Franzen

Lazar heart and soul guy who does everything. Blocks shots, hits, scores, a true leader like Callahan.

Mantha is big, uses his size, good hands like Wheeler.

They have pretty much nothing in common. Zykov plays a very NA north-south game.

The only thing they have in common is being heart and soul guys. Callahan is like a bull in a china shop (plus he plays exactly like a winger) which is not at all what Lazar plays like. Hartman is like Callahan with much lower offensive upside and him and Lazar are nothing alike.

Wheeler's game is based around his speed and his hands. He's more of a playmaker too. He has also added a physical element over the last 2-3 years. Mantha's game is based around his shot and getting into scoring positions. He has zero physical presence despite his size.

As I said, completely random comparisons.

I wonder which players will be available by our 3rd.

Jordan Subban, Peter Cehlarik, Tyler Hill, and Sven Andrighetto all intrigue me enough to consider taking them there.

What are peoples thoughts on Hagg? From the highlights he looks intriguing, but I haven't seen him in a full game.
