Interesting that a sniper like Murray doesn't want to take full advantage of the extra stick curve allowed this year. His theory of using it only to make sure his is legal may be a good, safe one. Sounds like Ovechkin won't be roofing any backhanders this year.
I'm wondering if this change will cause there to be a lot more stick measurements? The last thing the penalty-filled NHL needs is another delay.
I liked Glen Murrays comments in the "Putting it in the past" article. Glen wants to put last year behind him and feels that he and Savard are developing chemistry already. With over $9 million spent on the two of them that *might* be a good thing.
One thing I liked about Mike Sullivan's coaching: he did an excellent job with the penalty kill. I thought the tight box he used to kill two man advantages worked very well.

Not too worried about the PK at this point - at least in a game where Chara and Jurcina didn't play.
If I remember correctly, the PK was pretty solid when those two were on the ice in the preseason.
NO, considered Luongo....just slightly on fence, because he lacks that deep Cup run. Love him. Just don't put him there yet with Brodeur, Kiprusoff....but I understand there is an agrument there.

Not that I usually take pleasure in a person losing their job, but I did chuckle when I read in the Globe this a.m. that the person in charge of advertising was let go. I wonder if it was Archie The Wicked Bruins Fan that put the nail in the coffin?

It looks like Archie has been put to sleep.- I'm not really impressed with anything so far. The felt in the streets, heard in the bars, etc. is one of the same old tired crappy things from last year (Dennis Leary last year) in a new package.

Agreed....I hold out final stamp of approval, though, until I get to see how a guy handles the post-season pressure. Remember, he doesn't have a minute of it on his resume. So, I guess for now, he gets an `I' in my book.
I'd definitely have Luongo on my short list...and JS Guigere? Isn't he in a dogfight for a starting job w/the Russian kid who was dominant in last year's playoffs? Any goalie who cannot start on his own team should not be on the list??
