I'm guessing Pens fans have noticed this before but it just dawned on me who Brandon Sutter reminds me of. He's an Aaron Rogers doppelgänger.

Domination indeed.
Only 13 points in 12 games since 09.

It took me a month or so, then it dawned on me when I did the discount double check.

It hurts seeing Karlsson struggle so much on the ice. He can't skate, pass, defend or get the puck on net.

Maybe Bieksa and Zajac were right... Zajac personally reached out to Karlsson and told him not to come back. Perhaps the Sens should have listened...

He used to destroy those awful early 2000's teams though.

It seemed like every time they'd play, he or Alfredsson would end up with 4 or 5 points.

wow I never even noticed

also, am I the only penguins fan that just assumes Spezza will either score or setup at least one goal every time he plays us? He always does. I mean, the stats even back that up

I don't think he'll be enough to get the Sens past a game 5, but he's sure as hell not going to make the Sens worse.

I don't know how accurate this is. Spezza played his first full NHL season in 2003-04. I'd guess that most of those points came post lock out from 05-08 then he was still PPG against them once they were perennial contenders.

Either way, it's an emotional boost at worst for the team and city. At best it helps Ottawa produce more on the powerplay and get more possession of the puck. Just seeing the guy on the ice tomorrow will be a small victory for fans like me who are huge Spezza fans. He's the next in line for the 'C' for a reason!

The Pens' worst seasons of their down years were 03-04 and 05-06. Maybe early 2000's is a bit of a misnomer, but those Sens teams beat them mercilessly.

Sure, but 8 points in 4 games against Pittsburgh last year.

Spezza is coming for you, Penguins.

I'm glad he's back, but I care more about Karlsson + Spezza (and Cowen) not getting more injured than beating the Penguins this round.

This was never our year and we need our stars to be healthy when in 2-3 years we do make a run.

You mean where Spezza completely covers Crosby, perfectly, and then the guy isn't covering his defenceman at the point so a screened shot gets through? Please, tell me more about how good defensively Spezza is in addition to the 8 points in 4 games.

You have to presume Spezza's return, even if he isn't 100% will provide a huge boost to the team--and the Arena. I can't imagine Sens fans not being excited about it.

Spezza coming back won't do much. [mod] Plus the chemistry will be all screwed up, like the Pens when Crosby first came back, and Crosby has more natural talent and intangibles in his pinky than Spezza has in his entire body.

I dont think that mnay sens fans expect Spezza returning after missing a couple months is going to propel the Senators to win the next four games.

He should provide a spark for the offense, most notably on a powerplay that has been lost without him for pretty much the entire season. His presence will also draw more attention from the Penguins' bench, giving more space to guys like Turris.

Whether that will translate into wins remains to be seen, but it does make this series a bit less lopsided if he can play anywhere close to his full potential.

This hit was so huge you're traveling back in time to witness it and incite outrage from present time Sens fans. "The hit that broke the fabric of time and space".

Best part is that Turris will be bumped down to the 2nd line.
