1 round you can still get some good young prospect specially this year maybe not like barkov but maybe someone like rychel or horvat or mantha or zykov etc so pretty good prospect
Kristo who is a young right winger ready to jump in next year ... He's a top 6 !! Look pretty good with the iihf tournament right now !!
Markov is 35 and we move down 20 spots. No thanks.

It would be a spot swap with a NHL ready proven top 6 forward coming back or a proven second pairing dman to put with Klein
Would something like this deal work out for Nashville?

To Cal:
4th overall
2nd round pick if you have one or if not then a 3rd+ to make up the difference

To Nash:
6th overall
Penguins 1st
Horak

Eberle doesn't have the value that he used to command; he seems to be on the outs among the "big 4" forwards, and for good reason. He wouldn't get you the 4th by itself, let alone also Radulov. That's just insane overpayment by the preds.

Not like it will ever happen but if I was Lou Lam I would offer the 9th overall + 3/4/5th round picks for the 4th overall.

Devils need a stud forward and can't take a chance on a lesser talent as they have no 1st rounder in 2014.

The difference between drafting Barkov or Shinkaruk/Domi is huge.

Not sure if Nashville would accept, but it is three extra picks.

Wow
Eberle is looked at as having the least value of the big 4 because the rest were 1st overalls...
Eberle for the 4th overall is close, with the Oil overpaying somewhat. The player at 4 would have a similar ceiling with a higher chance of busting. And who cares about Radulov? Is he ever going to play in the NHL again?

Ya but the Preds have no reason to do it. Easy pass by NSH

Wait... why? Eberle is a PPG player signed for 6 more years at a reasonable price. I'm interested in hearing why he's the odd man out of Edmonton.

Oh, there seems to have been numerous Eberle for sale threads in the forum recently; so I assume that something is going on over there to cause Eberle's relation with the management to be strained, and that they might no longer deem him the essential core going forward.

I think we need to get the GM of Nashville and Flames to do this deal or at least something similar. While I am really hesitant to give up another first and Horak, I think Barkov would be worth it. After looking at what others have offered for the 4th overall pick, I can see a deal like this being more likely to happen.

What do Preds fans think of this:

7th + Gagner + Paajarvi

For

4th + Josi

I see edmonton and Nashville as good trading partners. Nashville has some great D, on the team and in the system, but are starved for scoring. Drafting Barkov, since he doesn't project to be a high scoring player, doesn't really solve their offensive woes. Josi would be a huge chip for the Oilers D core, and Gagner and Paajarvi would be great for Nashville's forward group. Essentially, I would expect edmonton to come out with Barkov and Nashville to come out with Lindholm, who could be great with Forsberg.

I would say the value is close and this trade suits both team's needs, but edmonton may have to add a little bit.

That's very bad, Josi already on or top pairing and we don't get a defensman back. We trade a way the two most valuable pieces and drop three spots to pick up Gagner. Nope.

You aren't looking at this from our point of view, we have the 4th and we are in love with Barkov as he's BPA AND he fills our biggest need. You need to wow us given the circumstances.

Note: Weber/Josi/Klein are off the table. To be a defensive team you must have top defensemen and a top goalie. In Nashvillian eyes we are short a 2nd pairing d man

Wow; another awful proposal from Edmonton.

It doesn't really address any needs of Nashville, and while opening up some massive holes in their future lineup. If you want that deal, try substituting Eberle for Gagner to start, then you might get Poile talking. With your package, you would be lucky to get Josi alone.

I'm a little wary of a deal involving Horak, but I'd do this. I'd want Nashville's 2014 2nd rounder though.

I'm a little surprised the Flames came out and said there are only four franchise players available. But if they're right, Horak may be worth giving up.

If we do move #4, this is the type of move I'd want to see happen.

I think I'd do it.

One year of Vanek is just not worth dropping from 4 to 8. Way too much risk to pass up a player of Barkov's potential for a rental, no matter how many points he puts up.
