NESN Picture Quality ?

Does anyone else have a problem with the picture quality with NESN? I had the same problem last year also. I am watching in standard def and I notice that the red lines on the ice have a candycane or jagged look. All in all the picture is terrible. I am in the Salem NH area and my cable co. is Adelphia.

I have direct tv and the picture quality is horrible. I'm in Ma.
The picture quality is the same this year as it was last year. The commercials are crystal clear but the game stinks.

Quebec, all Brickley and the other guy needed were over-alls. The picture looked old, no lignting.

Yup - the Comcast NESN HD feed is crystal clear. One of the best HD feeds of any sports broadcast out there.

Let's put it this way. They put the National NBC Sports HD feed to shame.

The regular NESN feed looks kinda crappy, but the HD feed is pristine. It's like being at the game except you don't have to pay $17 for a beer and $14 for nachos.

Could be an issue when downconverting from HDTV to SDTV.

Anyone else notice NESNS varying sound/volume levels ? Same thing happened last year too, from my cable perspective.

I find NESN to be an annoying network. Everything they do. I hate the music they play during the Bruins games.

I feel this way about a lot of ESPN shows. They dwell on things like Tom Brady's body language way too much. I love ESPN and what they do, but they do some STUPID things (i.e. giving Ron Jaworski any air time at all. The man has the clearest Philadelphia bias ever and he's ALWAYS WRONG!!)

Gotta love Barry, though.

Good theory. Watching the pre-season game I was marveling anew at the excellent quality of the NESN HD broadcast. I'm surprised to hear the standard def broadcast is so lousy.

Who is responsible for downconverting...NESN or the cable provider? I guess I will give Adelphia a ring and see what they say.

I've got Dish network and while the HD is awesome on my TV, Nesn's broadcast for Dish users appears to be standard Def. and it's horrible. Hoping this will improve in a year or two.
