Him and Zucc are exactly what we needed in the sense that they're players that want the puck.
We previously had one player that wanted the puck, Nash, and he just wanted it to score.
Everyone else just wants to get rid of the puck.

These two want the puck, hold onto it for a bit, and look for the right pass

I find it funny that our prized offseason acquisition, Nash is the worst player on Brassard and Zucc's line.

the one thing he does (zucc too) that the other players don't do (namely beaver and cally) which makes him a good passer is he has his head always up and on a swivel. you can see him always looking around the ice and making the best decision of who to pass too as opposed to the blind passing ****ery we see a lot of from beaver and cally. he always shows great poise in being able to hold the puck that extra split second before he makes a great pass, where as beaver can't get rid of the puck soon enough which often lead to turnovers.

Brassard either scored or assisted on 60% of the goals we scored in the series, crazy.

Hi, I'm Callagraves from the Department of Avatar Wagers. On April 27, 2013, in a thread titled "Player Discussion: Derick Brassard", an Avatar Bet was proposed on, and agreed to by posters Schabadoo and Kershaw.

The nature of the bet is ongoing, as the more rounds the Rangers win, the longer the time-period which Kershaw must keep up any Avatar of Schabadoo's choosing. With the Rangers completion of the first round and advancement into the 2nd, Schabadoo's first plateau, choosing Kershaw's avatar for 3 months, has been met.

User Kershaw has requested that Schabadoo's winnings not be put into effect until summer, which was not in the previous arrangement. However, despite that the Rangers next series will without question complete with in the next 3 months, the Avatar bet does not typically finish until all possibilities have been eliminated.

To Review:

1. This Avatar Bet is one of an ongoing nature

2. The time at which the effect of the bet is to take place was previously undecided

3. Neither poster has a prior history of backing out of bets, despite it being implied that Kershaw may have a slight tendency toward gambling.

The Department of Avatar Wagers has decided that Schabadoo's avatar of choice will be adopted by Kershaw upon the Rangers' elimination or acquisition of the Stanley Cup. In the meantime, Kershaw will not be able to partake in any Avatar bets that could interfere with the timeline of the bet in question.

He admitted all the losing he did in Columbus sapped the energy from his game. It took away the fun.

"After a couple of years when you try hard and you work hard in the summer and there is no result, no playoffs, you can't have the same energy," Brassard said.
"As soon as I got traded I was like, 'Whoa,' it's a new start, some fresh air," he said.

Interesting.......

Let's hope he's serious and doesn't revert back to his CBJ ways after what has essentially been a flawless tenure as a Ranger so far.

It's more like DER-ICK it's said the exactly same way as Derek Stepan's. I've never heard either pronounced another way, but I am half deaf so...

I've heard from some of my friends that there has been tons of interest in him from other clubs. Why did CLB give him to us after all this time refusing other teams?

Interesting.......
"losing" sapped energy or boozing?

The biggest thing helping him in NYC is the fact that he has no close friends there...yet. Keep him away from women and wine...

That's why Voracek is doing so well. I am not guessing. I know.

Mason a little bit, too.

Voracek, Brassard and Mike Commodore. Ryan Johansen...to a lesser extent Mason. Those dudes were often a mess at 3AM.

It's an easy life to get into. He starts at 21 years old...lives 200 feet from the arena and 10 bars...and has girls parading in and out all night. Maybe now that he is older, if those temptations present themselves he will be able to say no.
