You know what sucks? The lakes at Elk Island. Some don't even seem to exist anymore, even though the website doesn't mention that.

That is an issue with a lot of lakes in Alberta.

If you think you see someone that resembles John Malkovich or Billy Bob Thornton around Edmonton it just might be them.

Anyone watching the Heat-Pacers? I'm a Heat fan but man does this Indiana team play great ball, all hustle and work ethic.

It's a fantastic game, I switched right over after Pens/Sens. Indy really is a guts and glory type of team. Several good to great pieces, roll players, everybody playing with confidence. Gritty. It's the story of two teams which are the absolute opposites in terms of basically everything.

Ya it's been a fantastic game (at least what I've caught). Lebron James is just amazing, made a few mistakes but good god the talent this guy has (in addition to the size, smarts, speed) is incredible.

3 shots, seriously...wtf.

Should have been over and back by my eye, gotta see it again.

And he makes all 3, gonna be a hell of an end.

Pretty weak call on the replay, tough loss for the heat if they end up losing.

And that's why Lebron is the best player in the world, amazing, straight explosive ability to the hoop from the 3 point line in under 2 seconds.

AMAZING!!!

I don't understand why he doesn't just drive the lane every time, he is unstoppable. 6'8 and can move like a guard. I know he's trying to share the ball and not be a pure scorer, hea getting involved in all aspects which is great, but he needs to be more selfish sometimes and just score the ball, take it to the rack and just crush guys. Mediocre jump shooter but is is literally unstoppable when he's in the paint and driving to the hoop. I swear he could score 40-50 a night no problem if he wanted.

Great, the fire in Lodgepole was bad enough, but now there is another one burning 6 miles north of my place in Lindale.

Why did gas go up today? Did I miss the memo of back to back long weekends?

Hockey Canada just finalized a vote to get rid of body checking in pee wee hockey. I watched almost every game that my brother played when he was in pee wee and I seriously can't recall a single injury as a result of a body check (which were usually little bumps... at best). I understand the concerns but I don't agree with it.

I will admit that I received two pretty bad injuries in peewee. A concussion with a strained neck from a hit from behind in the corner and a separated collarbone from a very clean open ice hit when I admired my own pass. Both guys who hurt me were actually friends of mine ironically.

But I am not in the group that wants checking gone from peewee. I actually think it should be taught in novice, and implemented in atom, before the early growers start turning into monsters. The reason you see less injuries in bantam then in peewee even though there is still a large size disparity, is because a majority of the players both know how to throw and take a hit properly.

Why does Bob McKenzie seem to hate hitting and fighting yet he covers hockey for a living? All the dudes at TSN seem to have similar opinions when it comes to that stuff. Kinda annoying to watch.

Anyone check out Primus last night? The most epic concert ever. Never thought I'd see a show better than Tool, but this did it.

Me and the wife are coming to Edmonton for 3 days over the weekend and are looking for some suggestions on things to do (Aside from the obvious stop for her...WEM)

Thought about booking a round of golf, she's more of a beginner golfer , any course suggestions?

Any other can't miss ideas?

Thanks.

Look for all the HF Oil Mods that live here and crash their places?

I really wish that the Blue Jays would call up catcher Josh Thole. I cringe whenever Blanco is in the line-up to catch R.A. Dickey. Thole is hitting something like .340 in the minors.

Curious to see how companies make up for these losses now.

The CRTC is the devil. I continue to be blown away by the piss poor internet service that we have to put up with. Bandwidth caps? What is this? The late 90's?

I got laid off from my job at CHEP pallets in February. Looked for two months until Costco called me at the beginning of May and I started working there. 3 weeks in, CHEP has called me back asking me to come back. With the difference in pay, it's a no brainer.

I'm in a damn good mood right now.

Congrats. I had heard Costco is a really good employer. I would have considered staying there for the other perks and benefits if the pay wasn't that much different.

Sounds like the MLB will be suspending 20 players including Alex Rodriguez (one of the few i have heard of) for doping. Sad how big a problem steroids is in baseball, tarnishes the sport
