Yeah that is what I figured. Guess he needs to step up and earn some ice time.

I really think Hartford is going to dominate this year. Not alot of veteran experience, but talent-wise that team is freakin stacked.

"Just coming in and getting back into the flow was a little adjustment," said Staal, who finished the game with a minus-one rating and hit the summary sheet with a four-minute high-sticking penalty.

"After a lot of travel, I didn't feel too great, but next weekend I can hopefully get back into the swing of things," he said. "I think my time (at the Rangers' camp) and playing the exhibition games I did was a good experience, and anything I can take back to the team here will be good"

I believe he's one of the players you ragged on me for commenting on in the Checkers thread cuz they have no chance of ever playing for the Rangers or the Pack. I told you some of those names would come up again.

Mark Lee: Smallish, playmaking center signed by the Checkers. Split last year between Bridgeport and Trenton. Native Newfie who played all his junior hockey in the Maritimes (MJAHL and PEI Rocket).

Hartford signed the following players to AHL contracts

Quote:
That includes defensemen Dale Purinton and Ryan Constant and forwards Francis Lessard and Mark Lee, who agreed to contracts after being on tryouts. Wing Mike Hoffman declined an offer

The D's are no problem if you look at the history of our prospect in HFD. I am happy if we have 4 healty D's in HFD come january...

I don't think its too crowded.

Weller-Immonen-Jessiman//Weller-Immonen-Giroux played together for the majority of last year. Schoney used that line as NJD used Madden when Elias where out. With the number of kids we have down there its important to have one line thats just really solid and can be used to save the momentum all the time.
Korpi-Dubi-G. Moore
Callahan-Helminen-Petruzalek//Callahan and Petru could mirror the success Genoway and Dawes had with Dwight last season.
Kozak-Falardeu//I think Lee is a safe bet to start here. Kozak have to win his spot over Lessard and Co.

Degon-Lampman
Baranka-Richter//Richter will probably bolt later in the year.
Liffiton-Girardi

The rest are probably ECHL fodder.

From the looks of their last pre-season game, it should be something like this:

Callahan
Jessiman
Korpikoski
Kozak
Falardeau
Immonen
Dubinsky
Helminen
Moore
Weller
Bahensky
Petruzalek
Lessard

Baranka
Lampman
Liffiton
Girardi
Richter
Degon
Potter/Purinton (one stays one to Charlotte)

Montoya
Holt

Good balance, almost entirely prospects. Figuring Graham and Byers go to Charlotte with Lee, Constant and one of Potter/Purinton.
Not sure if there's a 23 man roster in the AHL and not sure if they still only dress 11forwards or is it now 12?

Okay, I'll take my crack at it.

First of all, I gotta believe that Immonen will be back in the show before long. So I see the lines like so:

Weller-Dubi-Jessiman
Korpi-Helminen-G. Moore
Callahan-Falardeau (4 goals over the last 2 preseason games!)-Petruzalek
Bahensky-Kozak

Only problem is we've got Callahan out of position on LW (unless he or one of the others I have at C/RW can move over). Lessard as the extra. Graham as the first call-up from the ECHL.

Baranka-Lampman
Liffiton-Girardi
Richter-Degon

I may have some of these guys on their incorrect sides. Purinton as the extra (why on EARTH did they sign him again?) Potter as the first call-up from the ECHL.

He actually likes to play a lot on the left wing, he's a better player on the rush coming down the left side because he cuts to the middle on his backhand. Plus he's got a good shot and he'll be set up for one-timers on that side.

Probably has a lot to do with him being a good team guy and a veteran to stabilize a very young roster. at the AHL level, he's a pretty good player.

He still takes bad penalty after bad penalty at the AHL level. I wouldnt call him a good player at that level either.

Bobby Sanguinetti once again (damn its like every game i say this!)...had a good game, ANOTHER goal and assist in a 4-3 win.

He is still averaging 2 points a game after 6 games (7 goals, 5 Assists).

He took sole position of 3rd in points in the OHL.
He is still first in points among defenseman in the OHL.
He is in a 3-way tie in 1st in goals in the entire OHL.
He is 1st in goals among defenseman in the OHL.

Still very early...but he is still dominating....keep it up Bobby!

Very reminiscent of Marc Staal's start last season, hope he continues to dominate. Future powerplay QB.
