A few interesting quotes from Janne Niinimaa

"I can help this team" - Janne Niinimaa

"I'm happy to join the 'legendary' Canadiens team , every childrens' dream is to play for the Canadiens - Janne Niinimaa

Hope he means it, I hope he'll give us his all!

Stevie, old pal, you instruct us to discuss Huet within the confines of 1 thread, then start the 3rd thread about Nini[too many damn vowles]quotations today.

So, it's either one or the other or neither of the two.

I suffer from premature posting at times, so no big deal. Often if we already have a few threads on the same issue, the mods just combine them.

Nice of you to provide the info., you just didn't realize it had already been done, I was just pulling your leg. [not really, why would I pull your leg ?]

It might be the time of the year (I'm usually overly optimistic this time of year), but I really think Niinimaa is going to have a good enough year for the habs that people mention his name when discussing comeback player of the year.

GO HABS GO!!!!!!!

And the same RDS interview in Cyberpresse with the exception of seeing his face with the Mont-Tremblant trees behind him.....

In his RDS interview, I really got the impression, he wanted to make a good impression. He shook all of the reporters hands, and seemed genuine. On the other hand, I have always been a poor judge of character, and a bad writer.

Well, given that expectations are low (he is filling in as a sixth (or seventh)defenseman), and that he has some amount of talent, it will not be hard to exceed expectations.

Maybe like Bonk, he'll play his role and provide an occasional contribution to offense.

Well, he's a fan of heavy metal music and is a part owner of Club Teatria here in Oulu, Finland where they just recently had WASP and Moonspell work their unspeakable acts.

Having Carbo as a coach, as they already know eachother from their days with Stars, should help him make that transition. I'm sure Gainey asked his opinion before making that trade.

Its sad to see Janne ragged down here on these boards, I really wish he returns into his former self on Canadian soil, just to make those people look bad.

Hopefully, god straightens out Janne if he becomes a misfit.

I mean, he walked out on his own country because he didn't get along with the coach. (I dont care if he's the Finnish Mike Keenan)

But I have faith in God

Summanen the coach got fired soon after that, eventhough Finland took 2nd place at World Cup.

Hes a good coach, but has terrible people skills (management by perkele -school). You need those too to become a great one.

You guys will love him in Montreal. Here in Edmonton we still love the guy, hes a true heart and soul guy and is a good defenceman. A steal for Ribs, actually I think even if you got nothing back losing Ribs improved the team.
