Nice pick. Kid played very well at the U-20's. With smaller guys getting more opportunities these days, you never know...

My short list keeps getting smaller. I like Pope's potential. Long term project but could surprise. He was near the top of my list.

With the 147th pick in the draft, the boston bruins are proud to select Jake Guentzel, of the Sioux-City Musketeers in the USHL.

The boston bruins are excited to add a young man with the talent and work ethic that Jake possesses. His high end hockey sense and passing ability, along with his strong work ethic are the most prominent features in his toolkit that allowed him to win USHL rookie of the year. The biggest knock on him is his size, since he stands at 5'9, but with his skills in combination with his work ethic, we are confident that he will make an impact in the nhl someday.

*next gm has been pmed

I'm leaving for work now, I'll send my list to Habsfan18 so I don't hold anyone up.

Thanks Grant. I was a bit leery of taking him earlier because of his age, but when he fell to that pick (and Murphy stolen right before my eyes), there wasn't really any debate. I think he has the all the tools be a good NHLer despite his stature.

I think I get more joy out of stealing picks from under you guys than actually taking good players.

With the 148th overall pick in the draft, the Los Angeles Kings are proud to select, from the OHL's Windsor Spitfires, defenceman Trevor Murphy.

"We are very pleased to add a player of Trevor's talent level to our prospect pool this late in the draft. Trevor is a smooth skating offensive defenceman who makes a good first pass and possesses a howitzer of a shot. His defensive game is fairly good, but still has considerable room to grow. Despite only standing at 5'10, Murphy is strong player who does not easily get pushed around. He also plays with an edge and isn't afraid to drop the gloves.

Next GM has been PM'd.

With the 150th overall pick the Dallas Stars are pleased to select from the U.S. National Team Development Program of the USHL, forward Evan Allen.

Evan may not have put up gaudy numbers this year but he's an opportunistic scorer with quick feet, good hands, and a great release. We'd like to see him get bigger and work on his two-way play, which he should be able to accomplish in the great program he's heading to at the University of Michigan.

Next GM has been PM'd.

I thought, "Henriksson in the 5th? If I can do that, I can get Allen or Matt Murphy with my 6th."

Nope.

Both Allen and Murphy have been near the top of my list since the third round...I'm not in love with either of them so I kept trying to see how late I could push it before they'd get snapped up. Looks like I made the right call in Allen's case

Cole Ully was the only player someone snatched from me that I thought I can get. Would have taken him at 98 if I knew he'd be gone at 108.

Amazing hands.
