Best two places to look are the ongoing prospects thread on the Sharks board and this thread:

http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...893683&page=15

Everything I've read has been very positive.

Jagr lite. Hertl is going to be very very good player. Can't understand how Faksa went over Hertl. When i watched them at their draft year i thought that Hertl is better than Faksa by fair margin. Call me crazy but i rate Hertl as better than Grigorenko.

I think Hertl is better in offense. I have no doubt that Faksa is better in defensive work. Faksa went over Hertl on draft because nobody knows, when Hertl will go to oversea. thought

Hertl makes the WC team. He had good chemistry in line with Tenkrat and Vrana at EHT in Czech republic.

Different Vrana than the 16 y/o guy I'm guessing, eh?

But that's pretty awesome. Good for Hertl. Any idea when the Czech team plays the US or Canada or Russia or something? I'd be extremely interested to see how he does versus NHLers.

Yes, of course It's not him. It is Petr Vrana from Lev Prague, KHL. He is 28 years old.

Czech team plays the Canada at 12 May, Sunday. US and Russia are in Helsinki group. They can possibly play them in semi-final not sooner.

Hertl wants a lot move to San Jose organisation. He's thinking that he is prepared for NHL... Slavia is strictly against, Hertl has one more year contract with them.

So, What about new deal between IIHF and NHL. Will be there some compensation rules in cases like Hertl's one ?

The NHL and the KHL have a history of plucking players out of each other's leagues. I'd be surprised if the NHL does any different with the Czech League.

Then, I think, Hertl has to stay one more year. He is a leader of team...

Or, out there is a rumour that Avangard is interested in Hertl, for example...

It looks like if the Sharks do want him this summer, they will get him. (For those who cannot read in Czech, the article says that Czech league clubs have agreed upon a new agreement between the IIHF and the NHL which would allow NHL clubs to sign European players even with existing contracts, after paying a 200 000 $ fee).

I think Hertl should go to the NHL. The game in NA is different from the game in here and he better not getting too accustomed to the slow tempo of Extraliga. Unlike most prospects in his age he's already very strong physically and he's got a lot of professional experience for a 19 year old. He can work on his weaknesses in San Jose too, it's not like young players stop their development once hitting the NHL ice (something Vladimír Růžička seems to believe in).

Plus, he's by far the best Sharks prospect, they simply can't afford him to become a bust and I'm sure they will treat him accordingly.
Going to Russia would be stupid at this stage of his career.

I do not believe, that everything what Ruzicka said, really mean it. He just can't let his teamleader go to NHL for nothing...

Can't wait for seeing Hertl in San Jose jersey at 2013/2014 season opener

edit - Wait a minute, the increase of new deal is just 40k $$$ ?????? Allright or not, anyway "everybody" looking to be satisfied with it...

I heard that the Sharks would want him to play in Worcester for a bit before San Jose to get accustomed to the game over here. This would seem to go along with the Sharks prospect philosophy as far as I can tell, as they rarely rush guys along.

We'll see, can't wait to have him in SJ either way, whenever he comes!

Super stoked to see Hertl in a Sharks jersey. To those who watch him more, do you think he's ready for the NHL, or would he be better off spending a year in Worcester learning the NA style? As well, will there be an hiccups in getting him over to North America, aside from paying a fee?

Renaud Lavoie ‏@RenLavoieRDS 23m
Tomas Hertl signed his ELS contract with Sharks. Hertl was the Sharks first round pick in 2012. #RDS

Corey Pronman ‏@coreypronman 19m
Wouldn't be surprised if he's in SJ next year. RT @RenLavoieRDS: Tomas Hertl signed his ELS contract with Sharks.

My favourite player for calder and i think that he is one of the best prospects right now. I've always been really high on him and can't understand how faksa went over him. Faksa isn't a bad player at all but Hertl is something different. Really dynamic hands, i see alot of similarities with Jagr. I don't expect him to be as good but Jagr lite type of player.

Yeah, can't believe he went so late in the draft. Star in the making.

And after WCH 2013 i read jokes like

Who is it, he has 100 shots and 0 goals?
Plekanec, Salak,...?
No, it is Hertl

But he had excelent season in Slavia Praha last year. The youngest and the best scorer. Trainer and GM were very upset that he left this year, cause he had a treaty till next year. Probably they had prepared marketing on him
