They didn't bother playing period. It was a train wreck. Young players are far too emotion based

I have watched the game a few times and London really looked like they had no business being on the same ice. Just a brutal performance.

I'm watching the game now and my answer would be no. Almost all of Halifax's goals were tic-tac passing plays. I don't think you blame London's goalies on that loss. London's been horrible since the OHL final (which they should have lost).

Yes, and it was fabulous. One of the best games of the year.

In tonight's game, Taylor Leier took a nasty hit to the head. It looked like he was out before he hit the ice. No update yet - he's still being evaluated.

That's a shame for Leier but I get the sense he won't be signed anyway.

Still got another year. He was taken as a project.

Just a hunch. The Flyers usually lock up their CHL guys early.

Portland beat Saskatoon 4-2. London plays Saskatoon tomorrow, loser of the game is gone from the tournament.

The Flyers do lock up their prospects early but I still wouldn't worry about until he makes it thru training camp next fall without one.

He still has the summer to go but this hit might set him back even further.

This year is a weird one. I would think the Flyers would like to get a look at these players up close during a training camp before making any decisions and they didn't get a chance this past year. Also, the Flyers tend to sign guys at the end of the 1st year before they can join the phantoms after their season is over. Leier was never going to be eligible to play for the phantoms with Portland being so good. You hunch may be right, just think its a little early to judge on Leier.

Stolarz was their second pick. Leier was their 5th. I don't see the comparison.

The kid is far from a lock, but he was drafted as a guy with potential. He just played his second year in the Dub at near a PPG. That's not overly impressive considering the team he played on and I certainly wouldn't expect the Flyers to rush to sign him, but if he rips off 100 points playing on Portland's first line next year they'd be hard pressed not to sign him. As someone else said, the camps will also be part of the evaluation process.

If we signed a guy like Noebels I think we'll sign Leier too.

Did you hear the commentators talking about him after he got hurt. One of Portland's best all around players. Fast, smart, skilled, gritty. 2nd PP and 1st PK. Solid dependable player. You need guys like that on your team, I think it's a sure thing he plays in the NHL.

Also, I've only got to see these couple games, but he seems like a guy to me who could be better playing with better players in the NHL. His positioning and instincts are excellent.

On another note it was pretty F'd up that Thrower was smiling/laughing after throwing a flying elbow to Leier's head.

Wasn't an elbow. Replays show it was his shoulder that hit him square on the chin. His elbow came up on the follow through.
