Correct me if I'm wrong but EPL teams can start negotiating transfers now but cannot purchase players until July 1 correct?

Yes, pretty sure that is right.

Jovetic's agent is reportedly in London discussing terms of a deal with Arsenal, and reports are saying Florentina will not sell him to Juve.

I found the right answer over lunch. Players can move within the league immediately at the end of the season but teams usually wait until July 1 because player contracts expire on June 30. International signings cant start until July 1.

Word is Andy Carrol to West Ham for $15 mil if he agrees to the move

The Cubs made a minor move today that could pay off later when they acquired flame-throwing former Cardinals relief pitcher Eduardo Sanchez off of waivers. Sanchez was immediately assigned to AAA Iowa.

Sanchez burst on the MLB scene in 2011 when he posted a 1.80 ERA, saved 5 games, and struck out 10.5 batters per 9 innings. The control wasn't quite as good as Sanchez walked 4.8 per 9 IP.

Sanchez split last season between AAA and St. Louis and didn't fair as well, posting a 6.60 ERA and a Marmol-esque 7.8 walks per 9 IP. This year Sanchez has posted a 4.70 ERA in 7.2 innings with a walk rate of 4.70/9 IP and a K rate of 7.04/9 IP in AAA. In his career he has a 3.40 ERA with a 3.98 FIP and a 4.62 xFIP.

July 1 is the official date but teams can negotiate and announce moves happening before then they just don't become official till July 1.

SOX win. Boston loses their 1st road series of the year.

Winners of 6 of 8 and closing in on 3rd.

Only 3 and a half behind Detroit. Because lets face it, Cleveland will choke.

I don't even acknowledge their existence anymore. They're just sort of 'there'.

Cubs bullpen has blown 10 out of 20 save chances this year and the Cubs have lost 14 1 run games....incredible.

Can't believe I'll be rooting for the Pacers tonight. At least I can respect the way they play. Should be a good series

I've been wanting Memphis to come out of the West, but San Antonio has a better shot at beating the Heat

i think memphis actually had abetter chance vs heat. gasol and randolph inside would give them a pretty big advantage. either way, i dont see the heat losing

I've always said that being a Cubs starting pitcher has to be a special ring of hell that not even Dante could've imagined....

What an awful end to the game. How do you let Lebron catch the ball there and get an uncontested lay up? Terrible coaching.

Yet again a coach out thinks himself.

Well I don't want to have my best defender on the floor because he might be matched up with Bosh and he can't guard Bosh on the perimeter.

As if the Heat would be going to Bosh in that situation no matter who was out there, and if they did good, would rather the game came down to Bosh knocking down a 15ft then LeBron get an free look all the way in.

Yup, its absurd. The LAST thing you want to have happen is Lebron to get a shot at the rim. Obviously you'd love to deny him the ball, but the last thing you can let happen is him to catch the ball going toward the rim and thats exactly what they did. They should have gone to a zone and made someone hit a contested jump shot. Just stupid.

Yea no reason not to have hibbert in. Really strange, though its no guarantee the heat wouldn't have won anyway, but why not go down with your best guys on the floor?
