The line has more potential this year than any year we've had Cutler, but this year is a giant question mark. Nobody can really say this will be a good year, and nobody can say this will be a bad year and have any reasonable logic to back their stance up. Both sides just have to wait until the first few games of the regular season are over to start forming opinions.
When your offense has the 5th worst yards per game in the NFL, the odds are that it's going to be better regardless of how good or bad the new coaches do.

Yeah, the new coaching staff and new players will insure a significantly better offense. The defense is the real question. Will it be near the same or go to hell.

Bit of an unfortunate way to end things, but I'll always remember him as one of the best Bears ever. Wish him well.

Glad Urlacher retired then went to another team.

They should have Brian Urlacher day in the near future and retire his jersey.

Well, now he's saying it wasn't about the money, but how they treated the negotiation. IMO his agent screwed him a bit, and he probably didn't have realistic expectations. That being said, he's been open about the fact that he know acknowledges he couldn't play at the same level anymore and his knee won't be 100% again. At some point, once he is past all this, I'm sure it will be fine. He may not send Phil Emery Christmas cards, but at some stage he will probably acknowledge to himself that it's a business and it probably couldn't have gone another way. (well, other than his agent telling him to sign the 1 year deal and be happy about it)

He's still all pissy about the Lovie firing. It was years overdue. They can watch the NFL on the couch together now and tell each other how much better they are than everyone else instead of telling us.

He won't. Ray will get the nod over him and I doubt they put two MLBs in at once.

He basically wanted a fluffy farewell contract from the bears. Good on them for not indulging him

I don't know about "years", MAYBE 2, realistically more like 1.

Hell I was already upset that there was over a full month between Free Agency and the NFL draft. Now it's going to be TWO months. Lame doesn't even begin to describe it.

God forbid they move the draft to another location (like the NHL draft) for the year.

That'd be awesome. I'd love to go to one in Chicago.

Yea, they need to move it around. Having it in New York all the time is annoying. They should tour a number of the different NFL cities each season. That would be awesome.

There is nothing more overhyped and boring than the NFL Draft.

Not for me. I love watching the first 2-3 rounds. The NFL is one of the few sports where there is instant gratification in regards to rookies starting immediately or at least contributing to the team. I enjoy seeing all the prospects and how they will contribute to their teams. I really enjoy watching it (well, the first 2-3 rounds anyway).

My thoughts exactly.

Although, I do appreciate how much work goes into scouting the players from a tv network perspective.

The combine and all the mocks/hype/gesturing is overhyped but the actual draft itself is great IMO.
