As far as they have said, yes it is safe to take a shower. The water just can't be used if it will be ingested. Whether by brushing your teeth, drinking, with food, ect.

But that would still be up to you if you want to shower in that water.

Use bottled water to brush your teeth. That's what I did. Worked fine.

Just boil the water for a minute, stick it in the fridge and drink it an hour later. That's the official word.

Accidentally sipping a little won't make you sick. The bacteria level is very low, just higher than normal.

They are at work man! I mean somebody has to pay those corrupt city workers to fix the water problem they probably caused in the first place!

Once when I was living in San Cristobal de las Casas, in Mexico, we didn't have water for 1 week, because the government didn't pay the electricity bill, the water factory went off. This whole situation isn't as bad. At least our mayer doesn't do crack !

Montreal Mayor Michael Applebaum held a press conference at 10:15 p.m. ET Thursday to tell residents that water sample tests conducted by the city came back clean.

“The water is of good quality, everyone can drink it,” Applebaum said, adding that if water looks slightly brown, resident should let the tap run a bit before pouring a glass.

All is well again in Montreal!!
The tap water is clean again!!
Go Habs Go!!

(in a way it's good that something like this happens once in awhile...makes us more thankful for clean tap water! then again...our tax dollars are supposed to take care of that!).

This reminds me...must have been a lot of dogs and cats getting sick recently...if their owners let them drink the water from the toilet bowl.
But, maybe the water wasn't that bad...the precautionary warning (boil water) was still the right thing to do since some people did say the water was darker than usual.
