I mean, this is basically the biggest and most famous hockey messageboard in the world. The comment sections of TSN and ESPN get filled but honestly, there's really no competition. That's why I post here. I mean, I googled "hockey message board" (hfboards is first) and the fifth site google spits out hasn't been updated since 2009. I guarantee you scouts, GMs, coaches, players, they all lurk the site and post under aliases. Not everybody, but when you have all these people who've devoted their lives to hockey, a bunch of them are going to read about hockey on the internet.

There are some people that understand the sport and have a balanced and fair outlook on players around here, just not a lot of them... Most people are biased and can't look at things outside the perspective of their own team, the vast majourity in fact. That's what makes the TR board such a gong show.

Thing is, HF boards is filled with a lot of intelligent hockey people. It just has more unintelligent. Take a look at any site, YouTube video, or FB page and you will be smashing your face off something when you see what is posted. The Leafs FB is 200000x worse than the Trade Rumor section, since their is some logic being posted once you get past the proposal section and look in real rumor threads.

On top of that I haven't actually read any proposals in a long time so now that I think about it I will right now.

Jarmo Kekalainen follows HockeysFuture on Twitter I'm sure he has browsed the prospects bored more than a few times. Why wouldn't scouts come to this board? They travel so much and have an insane amount of downtime, most of us are on here because we're bored why wouldn't they be.

Toronto Maple Leafs traded Ian White, Matt Stajan, Nicklas Hagman and Jamal Mayers to the Calgary Flames for Dion Phaneuf, Keith Aulie and Fredrik Sjostrom.

I'm sure many people in the hockey world come by to read the threads around here. Pretty soon there won't be a player in the NHL who won't know what HFboards is. I mean this site really is the best source for what the fans are thinking.

It's no shocker that they read this site, I met most nhl players have accounts on HF.

Outspoken players might even have 5-10k posts on here, I would not be surprised.

I bet some of the scouts and GMs who read HFboards have their own polls on whether some of the trade proposals were dumb enough for Mike Milbury to make.

I think Mike Milbury proves that anyone on HFboards could be a GM

Wonder how many players actually sit and read our Dump So and So threads too. We also have a lot of fun bashing players on our own teams.... or coming up with new nicknames for them.

Actually, half the threads in the trades section are real trade negotiations going on between GM's, hiding in plain sight.

Gillis was reportedly shocked at the potential returns he can get for Ballard, Raymond, and a 2nd.

I heard there's a picture floating around of Brandon Dubinsky with HFBoards open on his laptop... is there any truth to that?

The scouts probably jacked that Wisniewski for Pahlsson trade back in 2010.

Yes, I don't know if I can find it if you can't, but I have seen it before and it's legit.
