Terrible idea. MMA is working towards gaining mainstream credibility. This is counter-productive.

That's the dumbest crap I've ever read.
This isn't MMA, I seriously doubt this is even legal. These guys aren't even pro fighters.

Such a freaking dumb promoter, he will never make this fight happen unless it is a staged one like wrestling.

I'm not a fan of Dana White, I think this guy is a media *****, and made the sport a lot less entertaining than it was. But he is a smart man with some attitude. I would love to see his reaction to this.

If the two middleweights were pro mma fighters with any skill they'd win fairly easily.

Two against one lol. Looking for trouble. I can't tell from the article if anyone knows is this with boxing gloves or open-finger gloves? Knees and/or elbow strikes permitted? Strikes permitted on the ground? Strikes permitted to the back of the body/head?

Thanks

This guy is trying to channel PT Barnum.

But it's likely not gonna work. Besides the absurdity, these guys are closer to lightweight thane middleweight (which is 185 in MMA, and right around 180 in amateur Judo, BJJ, etc... usually under 81 kilo).

I would not pay to see that. If it were included with something that I would pay to see... I would probably used that time to go to the bathroom or get some concessions.

UFC is working towards gaining mainstream credibility.

Does a 3 on 1 on the local basketball court hurt the NBA?

Basketball has established mainstream credibility. MMA has not.

MMA matches have to be sanctioned by an athletic commission. Pick-up games do not.

Really bad analogy.

You said it, they're working on gaining credibility. There's some people that still don't understand the spot and associate it with fake wrestling like WWE.

Nobody in the world thinks NBA isn't the elite league for basketball.
Not a good comparison at all.

Well they're dumbasses.

I don't think gaining credibility is an issue anymore for the UFC.
