More like an undeserved opportunity. I'm sure the UFC won't cut him if he loses to Roy and will give him another "tune-up" fight but if he manages to win? That would bump him up a lot. Win-win situation for Stipe.

So Dana confirmed today that they're trying to put together a fight between Jacare and Okami.

That's a great hw fight, I'm surprised they are giving mir another really tough fight, thought he was due for a lesser opponent.

File this one under strange matchmaking, Tim Hague will be fighting kalib starnrs in a HW bout.

Starnes is an average mw, I don't understand this fight.

If it means anything, which it doesn't, I've seen/heard Starnes KOing guys that are Hague's size at clubs here in BC. One-punched my ex's brother.

I'd seriously like to see how Okami borings this one up. He proved me wrong last time though.

When I think of Starnes I think of him running away from Nate Quarry for three rounds. And when I think of Hague I think of him getting KO'ed by Duffee in 7 seconds. Should be a fantastic fight!

Okami does deserve some credit, people were saying Hector Lombard would destroy Okami too.

Jacare is a very impressive fighter though.

There's a difference in this matchup though. Jacare is going to be hard to outpoint for Okami and if he takes him down Jacare is very happy. I could see Okami trying to fence ride him though. But even there, Jacare is dangerous from a sub standpoint. It's not a large bag of tricks situation, but he could slip into something.

Lol, whichever guy wins should probably retire post fight and end on a high note. I was in person for that fight with quarry, his entire country turned on him that night.

Condit/Kampmann 2 headlining UFC on Fox Sports 1 2(they really need to think of a better way of naming those cards).

Should be a good fight.

Do they need the extra number in there? Why not just 'UFC on Fox Sports 1: Condit vs Kampmann'?

I'm assuming that's what will happen, but most times they announce the events prior to having a main event, such as the case here, as it's been known as UFC on Fox Sports 1 2. The event in Boston is still known as UFC on Fox Sports 1 1 as no main event has been named yet. Should just replace the event # with the city it's held in.

Only thing surprising about this is that it took Lil' Nog this long to get hurt and pull out of the fight. Winnipeg slowly getting the Calgary treatment. The card looked so good when it was first announced.

Would love to see Glover step up and fight Shogun on this card.

Was just going to post the same thing. Glover wanted to fight him before but Shogun turned it down, saying Glover was too unproven or something along those lines. If Glover would take the fight, which I'm sure he would, Shogun would more or less have to take the fight or be lambasted by Dana.

Glover has a medical suspension to deal with so I doubt he can.

Yea that could muddy things, would need to be cleared by a doctor before being allowed to compete, I guess it depends on how bad his injuries are. UFC will most likely just go the easy route and bump either Jimmo or Pokrajac up to get an ass kicking by Shogun and find a lesser replacement for the undercard fight. Hopefully they find a legit opponent for Shogun, but on less than two weeks notice it's probably easier said than done.

I actually think Jimmo might beat Shogun.

I could see it, Jimmo did knock down Te-Huna and he's a tough guy, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I don't recall Glover having any major injuries following his fight, so that seems like one of those standard medical suspensions that he could easily have waived. Tough to take a fight with Shogun on short notice, but if he's able to it puts him right there for a number one contender fight, so hopefully that's enough incentive. Naturally Chael offered to step in. The guy's certainly a character. That's (main) card's so weak I have feeling Shogun will be fighting someone.

And I know Shogun's not quite what he once was, but Ryan Jimmo? Come on now. The guy's never even faced anyone remotely close to Shogun's level. Shogun would smoke him.
