With the 12th overall pick the Phoenix Coyotes are absolutely pleased to select Hunter Shinkaruk.

For a team who struggles to score from time to time, we feel someone who's put up around 90 points in his first two seasons in the 'Dub is the perfect addition to our team.

^at least after the top 7, in my opinion. give or take Darnell Nurse , the top 7 is pretty predictable, should be Jones, MacKinnon, Drouin, Barkov, Nichuskin, Lindholm and Monahan. and i wouldn't be surprised one bit to see Nichushkin go at #3 to T-Bay now that he has said he will come to the NHL this coming year and not play his remaining 2 years in the KHL unless he doesn't make the team that drafted him. i could see Drouin falling to #5 because of this.

It's not that I don't like Wennberg, I just don't like him at 10. I'd MUCH prefer Shinkaruk and in that scenario.

So you'd prefer a winger with better offense only over a center who beats him at every other facet of the game and isn't shabby at all offensively?

I think Wennberg is going to be the more valuable player in the future. He may not put up Shinkaruk's numbers, but he'll be more important to his team than Shinkaruk will.

I agree the top 8 should go in some order, imo Tampa Bay at #3 and Carolina at #5 will play major roles in how the top 8 unfolds

This is all opinionated, I don't think it's fair to say Wennberg is better at all facets of the game. I have no issues with Wennberg at #10 either.

Outside of offensive ability, I do think he's stronger (at least marginally) in just about every other major facet of their games.

^yup, i as well feel T-Bay and Carolina will be the wildcards in how this draft unfolds. it will certainly have a bearing on who the Oilers are able to take at #7 and who the Sabres take at #8.

As a Winnipeg fan, I'd take Zadorov or Domi here.
