why we won

I think I just figured out something - we won because our goaltending was better than the other team's goaltending. This has been happening a few times lately and, surprisingly enough, we are winning a few.

If Salo outplays the other goalie, could we get on a roll ?

Is it really that simple?

Our best streak of the season occured when Conklin was on fire, so you may have a point. However, I think the goalies play better when our defense plays better. I think the key to future success will be defensive play.

but then i could say we were winning a handful of games when our offence was lighting everything up in sight even tho both the goaltending and defence wasn't great.

whatever it is tommorow night there needs to be a 100% team effort across the board to beat the Devils.

that is one way to put it.

Another way is EDM's goalie was slightly less awful than CHI's.

This was a game EDM should have had no problem with, and good on them for coming back and winning.

The next 3 on paper are all losses, but those are the kinds of games EDM will need to pick points up in to get back in the race.

What game were you watching exactly?

Thnaks for pointing that out, I should have made myself more clear. Did you miss it?

I watched the Oilers-Blackhawks game where our forwards overcame our fairly shoddy goaltending for a change. Must have been a different game.

We score 4, and we always seem to win.

I tend to disagree. Salo has allowed at least 4 goals in quite a few games this year.

But did we score 4 in those games? With 4 goals there's usually more puck control and less opposition chances because you're in their end. Defence through offence.

Passmore was more shoddy than Salo and I think that is what he meant by our goaltender outduelled Chicago.

Passmore was god awful.
