That's why. Overpaying is what a number of teams do. You guys are in a class all your own.

Of course, I fully expect Richards to be traded for a quality prospect because somewhat that always happens.

Anywho, my money is on Clarkson and Clowe. Both will get stupidly bloated contracts and neither will produce.

Agreed. Are Caps fans high on wanting him back? I always thought he fit the old-offensive and new-offensive Caps style well. I think he will do well if he sticks there.

Clarkson. Bickell will be overpaid by a decent amount too imo.

If all you experts can figure out who the busts will be, why can't experienced Gm's do the Same and not sign these guys?

Clarkson, Bozak and Clowe are my top picks.

Clarkson and Clowe are powerforwards who are both in their primes and 2nd liners at best who will get term because their not "old yet" but will age very quickly because of the style of game they play.

Bozak cause he's had inflated stats (just like Leino did) whose young enough that someone will offer him many years to go along with too many dollars.

Regehr's age, wear and tear, and time with Buffalo should ward off teams who aren't among the best in the league. Which works fine for him, because he's definitely chasing a Cup.

Many seem to want him back, depending on price/term. He would be kind of hard to fit under cap.
