Could Roy pair MacKinnon and Drouin?

I never understood trying to recreate chemistry from junior teams.

They are players tearing up a junior league because they are very skilled players playing together against opposition that's inferior. If you swap one of them out for another top five caliber forward, you expect to see the same result.

The obvious exception is Sedins for obvious reasons. They seem to be happy to be around each other on and off the ice, so it makes sense trying to get them both.

My guess is that they stay with 1st pick and that is it. And take Jones.
They need D.
Offense is fine with Duchene, Landeskog, ROR, Stastny, Parentau.

It all depends on who the Avs actually want to select and by the sounds of things they aren't even sure themselves yet. So yea, Roy is not lying when he says there's a possibility of trading the 1st overall.
Florida and Colorado aren't trading for one spot. If the Avs want Jones, and Florida wants Jones, they aren't trading. If the Avs want Jones and Florida does not, they aren't trading and wouldn't prevent the Avs from trading to #3 or #4 by saying they do want Jones. There is literally no reason for Florida to trade up to #1. Either the Avs want their player, in which case a trade won't happen, or the Avs want somebody else, in which case Florida doesn't need to trade up.

Secondly, Florida shouldn't deal the #2 for Duchene. In my opinion Mackinnon will be a better NHL player. If Mackinnon is available at #2, i'd take Mackinnon before Duchene. My not be a popular opinion, but in 4-5 years down the line, i think it will be so.

Roy saying he may explore options and actually doing anything are entirely different things. Odds are, the Avs keep the #1 pick, don't acquire another top pick, and take the player at the top of their list (obviously).

That would be a pretty bad deal for Florida IMO.

How many times do we have to spell it out for people, That O'Reilly can not be traded up to a year after the offersheet was matched and that was last February so what ever day that Colorado matched the offersheet in February O'Reilly cant be traded until a year from that date.

You'd have to get the 2 or 3 outright. Hefty price tag. Most certainly that means Duchene or Landeskog, plus other assets, maybe the ones you get from moving down and more.

Why do people mentions Florida? Drouin will go in third.

Colorado picks MacKinnon 1st then make an offer to Tampa for Drouin. Drouin is a good player but probably won't be a franchise guy. So his worth is not as great as the other two guys and can easily be tradeable.
