That would require competence.

If it happened, I'd be ecstatic.

Dallas Eakins and Doug Houda would be at top of my list.

I don't see how Sather escapes this unscathed after burning through 6 coaches and no cups

He's bullet proof.

Is there an exhaustive list somewhere of all possible candidates?

Tippett
McGuire
Eakins
Wilson
Vigneault
Weight
Desjardins
Ruff
Schoenfeld
Maurice
Nolan
Sullivan
Gulutzan
Messier
I doubt Nolan is anything resembling a serious possibility. Guy Boucher is out there too. Ron Wilson. Marc Crawford.

Guy Boucher is also an option. Don't know if I can take another defensive system though.

Early bets.

Rangers powerplay next season.

Better or worse than 15th in the league

Not happy with Torts being canned unless we're hiring someone to take the team in a new direction. Also think Henrik Lundqvist's contract status had a lot to do with this.

Give me someone under the radar that is a good tactician. Scott Gordon please.

Guys, we need someone that can coach like the Kings are being coached...Build a team that doesnt only rely on Lundqvist

Alain Vigneault seems like he would be a good candidate. Very impressive seasons with the Canucks.

I can't say I know enough about his systems, personality, etc.

why wouldn't he be good here?

Definitely don't want Ruff

I find it funny that people are still bewildered that Slats is unscathed. Dolan is still the owner is he not?

“@DarrenDreger: Let's not forget Messier had extensive talks with the Oilers about coaching a year or so ago. He shouldn't be discounted as a NYR candidate.”
