Well, they have Faulk who is a RHD, so perhaps they could pair Nurse with him?

I don't know if they do need RHD, I am not familiar with their situation, but they could likely take Ristolainen if that is the case as well.

I have no idea what their game plan is though.

Try Giroux + 11th for OEL.

Anything less won't get anyone in Phx to pick up the phone.

There's only one name on Philly's roster that will get GMDM to pick up the phone for OEL, and his name is Giroux....

I would quite surprised if Edmonton wasn't involved. Likely a swap centred around the two first rounders, one of Phoenix's high end D prospects and a lower value forward piece from Edmonton.

This is an intriguing deal, but I wouldn't pull the trigger from an Oilers POV unless Monahan and Lindholm are both off the board. Even then I'd probably still rather pick Nichushkin. How did Gormley look this season in the AHL?

Conversely, I wouldn't want the Yotes to pull the trigger on that deal either unless Monahan or Lindholm were still available

Gormley struggled at times in Portland and had some defensive lapses, but his first season in the AHL was pretty admirable. Just needs to develop consistency as all young players do.

Statline: 68 GP, 5G, 24A, 29P, -7, 44 PIM, 5 PPG

Undervaluing MPS a little there methinks. Last season I would have absolutely had no interest in MPS, but looks like he's turned it around this season. He's already a pretty good two-way player so he should be able to plug and play nearly immediately to our system. And MPS is still only 22 - he can certainly has the skills to reach his Top 6 ceiling. His inclusion makes giving up Gormley + our 1st more bearable in order to move up.

Still probably wouldn't do it though, lol.

The asset undervalued in this thread is Gormley. He'd be my sixth overall pick in this draft.

I don't think many would agree.

For
Tedenby & 9th

Close? I'm thinking Gormley is ahead of Rundblad now.

Done. I don't think that many Phoenix fans would share your opinion though.
It would be tough to give up on Paajarvi because he made strides last season but Gormley would be a great fit alongside Schultz. The problem is that Klefbom is almost guaranteed to be on the roster next season so Klefbom, Schultz and Gormley is an awful lot of very young defensemen to have on the roster at the same time but it would be a good problem to have just to have Gormley in the fold.

However, i think if the Oilers trade down to 12 that Samuelsson would be the target, i know that they were/still are extremely high on him so i could see them looking to pair off Lazar and Samuelsson one day.

Between having to give up Gormley and Samuelsson to move up to 7, I'll go with the lesser of two evils, as it were.

How about 12th + Samuelsson for 7th + Pitlick?

The thing is depending on who's coaching the team (hopefully Tippett next year), we need guys who are good on both ends of the ice. We don't need defencemen so that cuts out Merrill et. all, but how is Tedenby on the defensive end? His offensive production doesn't seem to be doing too well that would put Phoenix at an advantage for scoring, I personally think GMDM would go for someone along the lines of Josefson to be honest.

Murphy + 12

for

Josefson + 9

Would NJ be willing to do this?

I know Josefson didn't have the greatest year this year, but I think he would benefit by playing in Tippett's system.

I'd rather trade excess for needs.

We have enough d-men, I'd rather switch Pitlick to MPS for some offensive flare.

Its so hard to say, but Carolina fans seem to be certain that Rutherford wants an impact forward who can play next year.

And why would Colorado touch that, Yandle is not the difference between 1st and 12th.
