“@KatieStrangESPN: #NYR According to a source close to Tortorella, he was NOT heading into last year of deal. Signed an extension during season”

We watch the Canucks play 82 games+Playoffs a year, while you likely watch them play less than 20. AV simply was unable to make in game adjustments, he was fairly stubborn for that matter. NYR doesn't need another Torts, they need an outside of the box thinker like Boucher.

As always, it falls on Sather.

As Melrose pointed out, earlier:

We don't can't compete with the lineups of Pitt, Blackhaws, Kings... and our stars didn't even show up, which makes it twice as bad.

But let's make sure we lock up Zuccarello haha UGH
EXTREMELY fair point.

IIRC, isn't AV 1-10 in his last 11 playoff games?

Biggest UFA the Rangers should go after July 1st? Dave Tippet.

Please stay away from AV. Bring in a young coach that our young guys can better relate to. We don't need another Torts.

Yep, until we get more forward depth we're not going to be able to compete with the big dogs in the league. Pyatt-Boyle-Dorsett is a joke of a 3rd line, when Boston has Peverley-Kelly-Seguin, Pittsburgh has Morrow-Sutter-Cooke, Chicago has Stalberg-Shaw-Saad, etc.

Touche.

Although, Sather said he wants to hire his coach by the draft (June 30th). So.

Hopefully they do get Tippet. He's a fantastic coach.

Unfortunately.

I'm expecting Ruff/AV to be named head coach.
I see Gorton making the decision and I have more faith in him.

I think AV would be a prefect fit. You have the size up front and skill on the back end to play his style.

I didn't realize until I re-read that post that I came off like a dick. My bad!

Once again, we have overrated our homegrown players into thinking that this team is good enough to compete for a cup.

We simply aren't even close.

Scotty Bowman couldn't win a cup with our group of forwards. We aren't good enough. We won't win until Sather is gone, and by then Henke will be retired.

Haha, I didn't take it that way. Or at least, not much different that the usual Jonathan surliness.

If I write a really long essay about why I want to coach, do you think Slats will consider me?

I really hope Sather doesn't up and hire Ruff on you guys. You don't deserve that.

Or AV. You don't want him either.

BOS
Peverley 11-1-0-1
Kelly 12-0-0-0
Seguin 12-1-3-4

PIT
Morrow 10-2-2-4
Sutter 11-1-1-2
Cooke 11-0-3-3

CHI
Stalberg 9-0-2-2
Shaw 11-3-3-6
Saad 11-0-2-2

NYR
Boyle 11-3-2-5
Pyatt 12-2-2-4
Dorsett 11-0-1-1

Rangers 3rd line had more goals than any of those 3rd lines mentioned and put up more points than any of those lines except Chicago's (They were tied).

I saw the interview. There are much better ways of saying what he said. For instance "the other players are better on the PP"...
