I'm stunned part 1. I don't see how the plan is to put Thrower in the AHL based on how terrible his year was...AND based on how many guys we have there already....

Which is still surprising, 'cause as it stands now, based on his year, he'd SURELY be going back in Juniors. Honestly, being with Hay is surely was the doctor orders.

I am STUNNED part 2.... Wow, takes some balls for Bergevin to kinda let go a local like that. A local that still wasn't all bad this year. Wasn't great for sure...but showed some very good things. I was absolutely certain he'd stay. Though people, when a guy isn't signed in the last week...it does mean he won't be signed.

Yeah but are they doing it? Who were our big signings so far? Condon? I'm surprised that we haven't move in that direction so far. Both of those guys you are mentioning are worth it. Might even never be NHL'ers...but surely could be solid AHL'ers.

I know...I am reaching for sure....I did add a wink to my post though....with the idea that the team was surely ending their trade news the same way, I went and see one trade they did this year regarding Brett Lernout and they end their press release with..."The Saskatoon Blades would like to thank Brett for his time with the organization and would like to wish him all the best with the Swift Current Broncos."

http://www.saskatoonblades.com/artic...ke-swap/133150

Or when they traded Ryan Olsen with Shane McColgan coming back...press release ended with..."We would like to thank Ryan for everything he's brought to the Blades. It's been a good experience watching him grow since the time we drafted him and we wish him the best of luck going forward."

http://www.saskatoonblades.com/artic...kelowna/121919

Just that when I read it, found it strange. This is a guy that spent the last 4 years with this team. But there's surely nothing to it.

Not everyone wants to sign here, and the ones that do may be fielding offers from other teams before deciding. There haven't been a ton of overage CHL guys signing in the last month. I'll worry in late August if we still have 10 contract spots open. There's a small chance we could land Corban Knight if he likes Kristo enough and doesn't want to go to Florida.

I guess we're not signing Pribyl, Archie and Walsh because we'll have so many players possibly graduating to the pros in 14-15? And also not a lot of guys are coming off the books then either I guess?

Happy about Olivier. Don't care where they put Thrower as long as they get him sorted out on and off the ice.

Archambault won't be signed by the Habs and could be drafted again by an other team: http://www.journalexpress.ca/Sports/...la-serviette/1

I'm assuming they aren't signing Walsh because of his recurring hip injury, since he's never had a full healthy season since he was drafted, Pribyl because of his poor skating/mobility/foot speed and Archambault perhaps because he's too much of a one way type that has big holes in his overall game.

Am I just misremembering or did Thrower have some intense family issues off the ice (terminal diseases or something along those lines?). Perhaps the press release is an allusion to that.

His mother had cancer 7 years ago, and I think his father is half way through 2 years of treatment for cancer by taking pills as a form of chemotherapy.

Nystrom didn't play in WJC's last winter.

Yup he was wrong. I wouldn't bother though, that website seems to be more a 'chummy' place to read stuff than a rigorous blog. He basically just enumerated his stats from year to year by reading them out loud.

Mikaël Lalancette ‏@MLalancette 10h Maxim Lamarche s'entend avec les Flyers. Contrat à deux volets.

a bit surprising, not a bad player but slow footed and a bit soft.

Bergevin

Don't really see the Q's OA as interesting though.

Why MacAuley?

He was at the Bulldogs camp and was cut, did he improve that much this year?

He wasn't cut, they offered him and Gagne AHL deals and they refused. Probably would have started ECHL.
